                                                                                                                                                                                "Cu Chulann"

100 BC At this time Hill Forts and huge "linear earthworks" were being constructed in Ireland with Feasting Halls / bruidne wood, and Knockaulin in Co. Kildare in Southern Leinster was also in use as another Royal Assembly / Oenach.

100 BC - 50 BC the last of the "Celts" on the Continent who were known as the Goidels still under Roman oppression began also arriving into Ireland, originating now from Gaul who were Gaelic Milesian “Q“ speaking Celts also, while using some Latin words in their language.

The Celtic Gaels who had previously brought to Ireland the Celtic "Erse" language were "not politically" inclined, but instead were strongly "Family" orientated, and had, had no inclination to create an "Empire," relying instead on their Tuath / Family regions or "Family" structures, and due to this particular personal Celtic outlook on life they had been able to "absorb" the remaining older Septs who were also in Ireland who were also “Q“ speaking, similar to the Gaelic Irish, while the younger generations of Celts such as the Welsh in Cymru / Wales, and the Britons were “P“ speaking. An example of this difference was "pen" instead of "cean" for head.

The Gaelic Milesian Heremonian Septs / Family branches who were in the kingdom of Meath / Midhe / The Midland / Northern Leinster were to be originally descended in Ireland from *37.Eremon who had been the Gaelic Milesian joint 1st King of Tara / Erinn and the direct "male line" ancestor of "all" of the hEremonian Septs / Fines, including *60.Coffey / Cobthach who had previously been the 69th King of Tara / Erinn and the direct male line ancestor of the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Septs, and later on still also through his descendants, *82.Felim / Feidhlimidh the 108th King of Tara / Erinn the direct male line ancestor of the Heremonian Ui Felim Septs and his son, *83.Conn - of the Hundred Battles the 110th King of Tara / Ireland the who is direct male line ancestor of "all" of the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Ui Felim Dal Cuinn Septs in the 2nd Century AD, who were to eventually take over and "absorb" the kingdom of Midhe / Meath in Northern Leinster and also Sreng's Fifth / Connacht Province from the previous Fir Bolg Celts there, and also the Laigin / Lin Celts in Southern Leinster. The Heremonian Septs where to find the Gaelic Milesian Irian Ulaid Septs in the north - east of the Ulster Province, descended from his brother 37.Ir, who had been drowned during their second landing in Eire, a much harder nut to crack, whose overall numbers by now were mostly based on the Celtic Scythian Cruithin Picts there who were to be "absorbed" by this particular Milesian Gaelic Irian aristocratic warrior Sept, and also the Celtic Fir Bolg Septs who were to be eventually subject to the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Dal Fiatach Sept in the new Century who were to also take turns at ruling there in the kingdom of Ulaid, and it was to be from these "two" Ulaid Septs that Ulster Province / Ulidia (The Land of the Ulaid) was to gain its name. It would be much later still in the late 4th Century AD and early 5th Century AD before the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Ui Felim Dal Cuinn aristocratic warrior descendants of *83.Conn - of the Hundred Battles also, to be known then as the Heremonian Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Niaill Septs, would begin to gain control there in the Ulster Province also. In the south of Ireland, the Munster Province would remain mostly under the control of the aristocratic Milesian Gaelic descendants of *37.Eremon's older brother, *37.Eber Fionn - of Fair Complexion who had also by now become the direct male line ancestor of the hEberian / Heberian Septs there. Other Fir Bolg Septs who were still to be there also in the south of Eire in the Munster Province would be also "absorbed" further into the aristocratic warrior Gaelic Ithian Corco Loidge Septs descended from these 3 Milesian Gaelic brothers' kinsmen, the Gaelic uncle of their father 36,Mil in 35.Ithe and his son 36.Lewy / Lughaidh. (There were also Irish "settlements" at this time still in Wales / Cymru and Alba / Scottish Highlands.)

89 BC Finnchad was the Celtic Gaelic Milesian Irian 8th King of Emania, who was a son of Baicheda, who had his Irian Sept's territory in what is now known as Co. Armagh in the south - east of the Ulster Province,

48 BC Cormac was now the Gaelic Milesian Irian King of Emania, who was the son of Laghteghi / Loitigh, with his territory still in Co. Armagh in the south - east of the Ulster Province, and Eochy / Eochaidh mac Daire was also to be an Irian King of Emania.

40 BC While in "exile" the previously mentioned 3 sons of Don Desa had joined up with Ingcel - of the One Eye, who was a son of the Celtic King of Briton / Albion, and he too had also been "banned" there by his father for similar misconduct, and because of this they had joined up to slay Ingcel 's father and his mother along with his 7 brothers after first having carried out various attacks throughout Briton, and not long after this they decided to venture over to Ireland to carry out a similar pattern of destruction there also, eventually landing at Turvey Bay / Tuirbhe near Malahide on the coast of Co. Dublin situated in the north - east of Southern Leinster where they began ravaging the region there to the north towards Tara in what is now known as Co. Meath in the south - east of Midhe / The Midlands / Northern Leinster.  *Conaire Mor 1st - the Greater who was still the Heremonian 97th King of Erinn was at this time returning to the north towards Tara in Meath from out of Northern Munster / Thomond / Tuath Mhumhan were he had recently settled a "dispute" between the 2 Cairbres / Coirpres who were also his foster - brothers, and by carrying out this simple act of "compassion" he had inadvertently "broke" another of his taboos / geasas / geis that had been previously placed on him during his Inauguration and besides this, he had also stayed 5 nights with each of them, breaking another of the taboos / geasas. On entering Midhe / Midlands / Meath he could see that the surrounding region there was "ablaze" with "fire", and he knew that this could only meant "trouble" ahead, so he decided to return to the south back into Co. Dublin in Southern Leinster, going "right - handed" around Tara and "left - handed" around Brega in Co. Meath, again "breaking" 2 more of the original geasa that had also been put on him, and besides this, along the way he had unknowingly, once again "broke" another geasa by hunting the beasts at Cerna. Together with his followers and endevouring to ensure that he would avoid any chance of confrontation they decided to go even further south towards Da Dherga's hostel on the River Dodder / Bothar na Bruigne (The Road of the Court) near Tallaght in Co. Dublin, while Mac Cecht, his Champion, went ahead of him to ensure that everything was O.K. there for them to continue on in that direction. Greatly concerned now as to his eventual fate, *Conaire Mor 1st had his Druid Fer Caille, sacrifice a pig to advise him as to his future, who then informed him of his vision, that not only the "destruction"of Da Dherga's hostel, but also of his personal "demise" that would follow on from that event. Meanwhile Ingcel - of the One Eye continued to besiege the surrounding countryside to the "north" of Dublin around the kingdom of Brega in the south - east of Co. Meath in Northern Leinster, and after their devastating campaign there they "returned" to their ships, and proceeded on down to the Hill of Howth / Beann Edair where they decided to send 2 of the sons of Donn Desa ashore to find out where *Conaire Mor 1st had set up his camp, and were informed that he was at Da Dherga's hostel. They then went even further into Southern Leinster to the south of the River Liffey's mouth and crossed over the Dublin Mountains and were able to surround Da Dherga's hostel setting it on fire 3 times, which forced Conaire Mor 1st and his followers to use up all of the available "water" that they had in the building while trying to quench the burning flames, and because of this *Conaire Mor 1st was to eventually become quite "thirsty" and Mac Cecht, his Champion, set out to try and get him some fresh water to drink, and just as he was returning with the water he was to see *Conaire Mor 1st being brutally attacked by 2 of the remaining men, who he was able to drive off of him and slay. Mac Cecht then desperately tried to give *Conaire Mor 1st sustenance with the water he had brought back, to try and stop him from fading away, but it was all too late for *Conaire Mor, so he then set out after the other 5 attackers who could still be seen running away, while nearby he could see that  9 of his own comrades had been slain also. By the time 68.Conall Cernach - of the Victories the leader of the Gaelic Milesian Irian "Ulster Knights of the Red Branch Warriors" arrived on the scene, it was all well and truly over, and reluctantly 68.Conall Cernach had to return to his father, 67.Aimhirgin Larghiunach who scolded him for still being alive while *Conaire Mor 1st the 97th King of Erinn lay dead.

40 BC - 33 BC After the death of *Conaire 1st Mor - the Greater, the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh 97th King of Tara / Erinn, there was to be "no outright" ruler in Ireland for 7 years.

33 BC - 9 BC. *77.Lewy / Lughaidh Sriabh - n Dearg was to be the Celtic Gaelic Milesian Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh 98th King of Tara / Erinn, who was a son of 76.Bress / Breas na Lothar, ? a brother to 76.Maeve the Queen of Connacht, who were both the son and daughter of *75.Eochy / Eochaidh Feidlioch / Aireamh - the Ploughman who had been the previous Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh 93rd King of Tara / Erinn.

25 BC Setanta, (One who has knowledge of roads and ways.) who would later have a name change to Cu Chulann (The Hound of Culann) had been born to the south of the Ulster Province at New Grange / Bruig na Boinne at the foot of Dundalk / Dun Dealgan in the territory that was to also be part of his Ui Murtheinne Septs kingdom in The Midlands in Co. Louth in the north - east of Northern Leinster, while Deichtire / Dectera, his mother, was an Ulster Princess whose husband was Sualtam / Sualtach a Celtic Irian King in the Ulster Province who was a son of Roech. Deichtire was also a half - sister to 65.Conor mac Nessa who was now the Gaelic Milesian Irian King of Ulster, as she was a daughter of Maga, descended from Angus Og making him also a descendant of the Daghda Mor on his mother's side. Cu Chulann would become more generally known as the "Champion" of the "Red Branch Knights of Ulster" as he was to be the embodiment of all of the Celtic aristocratic warriors of Ireland.

20 BC. Setanta / Cu Chulann was 5 years of age and still living with his mother he was sent off to the Irian Royal Court to be educated and trained with the other young aristocratic boy warriors of Eamhain Macha in Co. Armagh where he easily dominated the group because of his outstanding natural abilities. By 7 years of age he was instructed in the use of arms and came to possess the singing sword known as "The Hard - Headed " / Cruaidin Cailidcheann. His hair was a golden colour / buidhe, with 3 coils flowing down into the hollow in the nape of his neck, that also hung over his shoulders in ringlets  He first went to Emain Macha, the Irian Navan Fort, that now belonged to his maternal uncle, 65.Conor mac Nessa the Irian King of Ulster, which was situated to the west of Armagh, to be trained in the arts, and on arriving there and full of gusto he was to turn the left side of his chariot towards Emain Macha itself, which was in reality a "tabu," and he then called out to those inside the fort that unless someone came out to "fight" him he would shed the blood of everyone in the fort. 65.Conor mac Nessa, his uncle, endeavouring to diffuse the situation ordered the women in the fort, including his Queen, to go out and meet him "bare breasted", which then forced him to back off and hide his face in shame. 65.Conor mac Nessa was undecided as to who would be the best men in Ulster Province to rear and train such a confident youth as Setanta, so he decided to ask the respected Brehon judge, Morann mac Cairbre for his advice, and he put him in 3 capable hands, Sencha, Fergus, and Amergin the aristocratic warrior, and due to his outstanding courage and physical abilities Setanta / Cu Chulann was to go on to become the archetype of all the Celtic Irish aristocratic warriors. Morann mac Caibre had predicted that Cu Chulann would become, "A great warrior and very famous and his praise would be in the mouths of all men," and Cu Chulann would also later be known as "The Guardian of the Sacred Land" and the "Hero" of the "Red Branch Knights of Ulster. "

17 BC  "Setanta / Cu Chulann"at 8 years of age was playing at hurling when his uncle, 65.Conor mac Nessa the Irian King of Ulster rode by on his way to see Culann the Chief Smith (gabhan) of Ulster Province, and he told Setanta to follow him there after he was finished playing his game, and later on when 65.Conor mac Nessa arrived at the smith's residence Culann the Chief smith went inside setting "loose" his "fierce hound", and when Setanta eventually arrived the dog was to attack him head on, so in response he sent a sling shot ball into its mouth and grabbed him by the hind legs and dashed him against a nearby rock until he was "dead." Culann the Chief smith was terribly upset over the loss of this particular dog so Setanta promised him another dog that he would train personally for him himself, and he would also guard his house until the dog he was going to train was able to. This action was to earn him the nickname of Cu Chulann (The Hound of Cullan the Smith.) Setanta and his mother, Deichtire, were "against" the name change, but Cathbad the Chief Druid prophesied that this would be his eternal name from then on, which would be well known to everyone in Ireland, and later on Cu Chulann was to hear Cathbad also say that if any young man took up arms on a certain day his name would be greater then anyone else in Ireland, but his life would be "short," and in response to this prophesy he went to 65.Conor mac Nessa demanding arms and a charioteer, saying that Cathbad had told him to, and he then went out on an expedition to prove his worthiness and returned with the "heads" of 3 Champions who had previously slain many of the Ulster Province warriors.

Cu Chulann was to go with his maternal uncle, 65.Conor mac Nessa the Irian King of Ulster to the Isle of Man where they defeated the Manx warriors there. Curoi mac Daire, the son of Daire, the King of West Iarthar / West Munster, who had his fortress 2000' up on the Sliab Mis mountain at Caher Conree / The Fort of Curoi, which was also known as "The Fort of the Champion of the Battlefield" at Camp in Co. Kerry in the south - west of the Munster Province in Corco Duibhne went with them and as a reward for his "support" 65.Conor mac Nessa gave Curoi, Blanaid the daughter of the Celtic King of Man, as a reward to be his wife, but Cu Chulann had previously made personal plans of his own with her and she had returned his advances, and Cu Chulann was then desperate to get her back. On returning to Ireland he was to trail Curoi and his followers into the Munster Province where he attacked them on their way home to Co. Kerry at Sallywood / Solloghod in Co. Tipperary in the north - east of the Munster Province, where Curoi and his men were able to "defeat" him and in retaliation for this attack on his person, Curoi cut off Cu Chulann’s long hair and left him there tied up until Laogh mac Rian came along and released him. Embarrassed then by his appearance he had to hide out for 12 months until his long hair grew back to it’s original length, but after this he went looking once again for Blanaid and eventually met up with her and she advised him to go back to the Ulster Province and return with his Ulster "Red Branch Warriors" to assist him in rescuing her. She also advised him to wait for her signal when she thought the time would be right to make his move on Curoi.

Laeg was to act as the main charioteer for Cu Chulann, and his chariot was to be pulled by his two "War Horses," Dubh Sanglainn and Liath Macha / The Grey of Macha.

Earlier on Cu Chulann was to have his mind also set on Emer the daughter of Forgall - the Wily, as she was not only beautiful, but had a lovely voice and sweet speech and was also good at needlework, and full of wisdom and chastity, but when he had approached her she only "laughed" at him as he was still only a "boy," but despite this she promised him that she would marry him if he could take her away from her kindred including her father, Forgall - the Wily who learning of this proposition went to 65.Conor mac Nessa at Emain Macha and told him that if Cu Chulann went to Scathach - the Amazon, who lived on an island in the east of Alba (Isle of Skye ?), and learnt all of her warrior craft, no one would stand against him, as Forgall - the Willy had anticipated that Cu Chulann would soon be slain there. Although Leary / Laegaire - the Battle Winner and 68.Conall Cernach - the Victorious were to start out on his journey to accompany him, they were to turn back along the way and leave him to his own devices as he continued on his jouney "alone," and when he was to finally arrive at his destination Scathach was with her 2 sons and he pointed his sword at her and said that he would slay her if she did not teach him her amazing skills, and she agreed to help him, and in return Cu Chulann later was also to assist her against Aoife a rival Queen there and made her make "peace" with Scathach. When he was to return to Ireland later on he took a scythed chariot to Forgall - the Wily's palace and climbed over the walls and "slew" anyone who got in his way, including Forgall - the Wily himself and placed Emer in his chariot and returned to Emain Macha where they were married. In the meantime Aoife - the Amazon Queen who Cu Chulann had defeated previously had given birth to his son, and in anticipation of this ever occurring Cu Cullann had asked her to call him Connalach / Connla and send him back over to Ireland when he came of age, and later being informed that Cu Chullan had since married Emer, she taught her son the craft of using arms hoping he would seek "revenge" on Cu Chulann. To this end she advised Connalach to go over to Ireland, instructing him to never turn back, never refuse a challenge, and never tell anyone his "real name." When he arrived at Dundalk / Dun Dealgan near Cu Chulann's residence 68.Conall Cearnach at first asked him his name and where he came from, and he refused to answer him, which led on to a duel with 68.Conall Cernach who he not only "defeated" but humiliated, and Cu Chulann then came forward and asked him the same and he also refused to tell him and this also led to a further conflict between the two of them also, and just as he started to realise that Cu Chualann was actually his father he threw his spear aside, but it was too late as Cu Chulann had released his notorious spear, the Gae Bolg, and it struck Connalach wounding him mortally, who in his dying breath was still able to inform him who he really was, and Cu Chulann then went into an "endless frenzy" of grief until the men of Ulster Province had Cathbad the Chief Druid put a spell on him and he became tired and weary.

Before this also 65.Conor mac Nessa the Irian King of Ulster was holding a feast in the house of Felim / Feidhlimidh who was one of his bards, whose wife gave birth to a daughter, and Cathbad his Chief Druid prophesied that she would grow up to be the most "beautiful woman" ever seen in the Ulster Province, and that because of her great beauty she would bring "death" to many and sorrow to the Irian kingdom in the Ulster Province and the "Knights of the Red Branch of Ulster" demanded that she be immediately "disposed" of, but 65.Conor mac Nessa instead put her in the care of a woman named Levarcham, for her to rear in a secret place in the mountains, until she was to be old enough to become his own "wife." Cathbad the Chief Druid had named her Deidre, and she was to be eventually reared among the creatures of the forest until she was of age, and during this time Levarcham always made her well aware of her future "fate" of having to be forced to marry the "aged "65.Conor mac Nessa. Levarcham, as her constant teacher, was by this time well and truly committed to her interests only, instead of those of 65.Conor mac Nessa. and she also informed the girl who would become known as Deidre / Derdriu - of the Sorrows of the existence of Naoise / Naisu / Noisiu, who was one of the 3 sons of Usnach also from the Ulster Province, who were all aristocratic warrior heroes of the Ulster Province, and she arranged a personal meeting for her with Naoise, where Deidre was to plead with him to take her away from the clutches of  65.Conor mac Nessa. Although fearful of the final outcome, and because of her great beauty and innocence, he agreed to assist her, along with his 2 brothers Ardan and Ainle, and to ensure that they were to escape from the wrath of 65.Conor mac Nessa they all left the Ulster Province and went across the Irish Sea to Alba / Scottish Highlands. On discovering what had occurred 65.Conor mac Nessa was beside himself with rage, but he decided all he could do now was "to bide his time," so much later on he announced that the 3 sons of Usnach should be encouraged to return to the Ulster Province to assist to "defend" it against the aristocratic warrior Gaelic Septs from the other 4 Provinces in Ireland. (He also let it be known that he would genuinely "welcome" them back if they should return to the Ulster Province). Eventually everyone agreed that this would be for the best, and 65.Conor mac Nessa called upon 68.Conall Cearnach - of the Victories the leader of the Irian "Red Branch Warriors of Ulster" and asked him, "What would you do if I sent you to encourage the 3 sons of Usnach to return to Ulster Province and they were then somehow "feloniously slain," who immediately responded with, "That there would be no man in the UlsterProvince safe from my vengeance if that were to occur." So he then called on Cu Chulann and asked him the same question, who also replied, that, "If that happened, no bribe or blood - fine would deter me from even taking your own head." He then called on 64.Fergus mac Roigh, who stated, that, " If that occurred he too would revenge the foul deed, "except" on 65.Conor mac Nessa himself."

This was just the answer the devious 64.Conor mac Nessa wanted to hear, so he sent 64.Fergus mac Roigh off to Alba to persuade them all to come back to the Ulster Province from their exile, under 65.Conor mac Nessa's personal guarantee of protection, and if they did agree and return they were then to be sent onto to Emain Macha as soon as they were to arrive into the Ulster Province. 64.Fergus mac Roigh was accompanied by his 2 sons 65.Illan Fionn - of Fair Complexion and 65.Buinne - the Ruthless Red and after they crossed over to Alba they landed at Loch Etive where 64.Fergus mac Roigh persuaded the 3 sons of Usnach to return to Emain Macha in the Ulster Province, although Deidre herself was firmly "against" it. After they landed back in Ireland at the fort / dun of Borrach at Fair Head / Ballycastle those in charge there had been instructed by 65.Conor mac Nessa to conduct a feast / feis there in honour of 64.Fergus mac Roigh to try and hold him back from the group, as he also knew that this would go against one of 64.Fergus mac Roigh's own personal geis / geasa / prohibitions. 64.Fergus mac Roigh was upset about this new turn of events so he asked Naoise what he thought he should do as to attending the feis, as if he refused, it would also go against the protocol of the "Red Branch Warriors" code regarding hospitality. Naoise told him that although he realised he was under an obligation, if he did this he would be forsaking him and his 2 brothers and Deidre to their fate and to the definite wily agenda of 65.Conor mac Nessa. Despite this 64.Fergus mac Roigh, depending on the previous assurances of 65.Conor mac Nessa, eventually relented and decided to stay behind, sending the 3 sons of Usnach and Deidre on to Emain Macha under the safeguard of his own 2 sons, 65.Buinne - the Reckless Red and 65.Aline Fionn - of Fair Complexion. The 3 sons of Usnach were by now naturally very wary of what lay ahead for them all, while Deidre was absolutely "terrified," as she had already had a "vision" of the 3 sons of Usnach and Illann Fionn, one of the sons of 64.Fergus mac Roigh, without their "heads," and she begged them to wait for 64.Fergus mac Roigh, but they decided to continue on with their journey. On arriving at Emain Macha they were placed in the house of the "Red Branch Warriors" and 65.Conor mac Nessa did not come to meet with them personally, but sent Deidre's old teacher, Levarcham, to see if Deidre was still as "beautiful" as ever, who then went to see the 3 sons of Usnach and Deidre and after "warning" them that 65.Conor mac Nessa was up to no good, she returned and informed 65.Conor mac Nessa that Deidre's previous hard life in Alba had taken its toll ruining her good looks, hoping this would dissuade him from acting against them, which it did for a while. Later on when 65.Conor mac Nessa was "intoxicated" he decided to send one of his trusted followers to look upon Deidre, who on returning advised him that she was "still" truly beautiful, and in a raging frustrating fit of anger 65.Conor mac Nessa then sent some of his Ulster Province warriors under Eoghan to set fire to the "Red Branch Warriors" house in which they were staying and to "slay" all those within it, except for Deidre.

65.Buinne - the Ruthless Red, one of the sons of 64.Fergus mac Roigh, soon put out the fire and drove them off, so 65.Conor mac Nessa decided to offer him a "bribe" of a portion of land for his own personal use to desert the 3 sons of Usnach, and he accepted his offer, but 65.Illan Fionn - of Fair Complexion, the other son of 64.Fergus mac Roigh was made of better stuff and instead charged out against the attackers and drove them off, so 65.Conor mac Nessa was not game to offer him a bribe and sent his own son, 66.Fiacha with his shield known as - the Moaner, which rang out loud when it was under attack, to personally take on 65.Illan Fionn. 66.Fiacha was no match for the abilities of 65.Illan Fionn and was soon cowed "beneath" the shield, and as 65.Illan Fionn struck it with his sword it "rang" out for all to hear, including 68.Conall Cearnach - of the Victories the leader of the "Red Branch Warriors of Ulster" who rushed unknowingly to assist the cowering 66.Fiacha, not realising what was really going on, and he "mortally" injured 65.Illan Fionn with his spear - the Blue Green, who while he was dying was able to explain what was "really" occurring and 68.Conall Cearnach then attacked 66.Fiacha, the son of 65.Conor mac Nessa, and slew him also. The 3 sons of Usnach were then able to continue to "defend "their own position until the dawn, when they decided to try and make a run for it with Deidre firmly placed in their centre, and in further desperation 65.Conor mac Nessa then had Cathbad the Cheif Druid intervene, who he promised that if he did, he would "spare" their lives, so Cathbad put them under a spell and they settled down and were seized and brought before 65.Conor mac Nessa who once again went against his "promise" and condemned them to "death." None of the "Red Branch Warriors" would carry out his "sickening" command, so he had Maine a Norse Prince who was there from Norway come forward, who offered to "behead" the 3 sons of Usnach as Naoise had previously slain his father and brothers in battle, so Naoise handed over his own sword - the Retaliator, (previously given to him by Manannan, the son of Ler), to carry out the foul deed against himself and his brothers. Deidre with her hands tied behind her back was brought to 65.Conor mac Nessa who asked her, "Who do you hate the most," and she replied "You and Eoghan," so 65.Conor mac Nessa then decided to hand her over to Eoghan for a year, but she was not to survive this ordeal, as while Eoghan was dragging her towards his chariot she dashed her "head" on a nearby rock and died. (It was recorded later that a pine tree was to grow out of Naoise and Deidre's graves and entwine.) 65.Conor mac Nessa was now in "total disgrace" with his followers in the Ulster Province and 64.Fergus mac Roigh on returning to Emain Macha and finding out what had occurred gathered together his own followers and slew another of 65.Conor mac Nessa's sons, and together with his own Ulster Province warriors went into "exile" into  nearby Sreng's Fifth / Connacht Province, to Ailill and 76.Maeve / Medb the Heremonian King and Queen there. The whole matter had so upset Cathbad the Cheif Druid that he put a "curse" on 65.Conor mac Nessa and his Irian kingdom in the Ulster Province, so that none of 65.Conor mac Nessa's descendants might ever reign in Ulster Province again, and all of this was to come to pass with the eventual death of Cu Chulann and the once great Emain Macha was to become only a "grassy hill."
