1496 AD Rory O Farrell, the son of Cathal O Farrell, died and Cetach O Farrell, the son of Thomas O Farrell, became the new Gaelic Milesian Irian King there in their kingdom of Annaly in Co. Longford in the north - west of Northern Leinster.

May:The Welsh Usurper, Henry V11 the Tudor King of England had to send further funds to Ireland to sustain the English Militia forces there, and he now also realised that it was time to once again return the authority in Ireland to Gerald Mor Fitz Gerald the Anglo - Norman eighth Earl of Kildare, as the frontier line surrounding The English Pale around Dublin, intended to keep out the Gaelic Irish Septs, and under the control of the English authorities in the Dublin Castle (The Devil's 1/2 Acre) was now actually at Clongowes in Gerald Mor Fitz Gerald the 8th English Earl of Kildare's territory in Co. Kildare in Central Southern Leinster. 

August: Gerald Mor Fitz Gerald the Anglo - Norman eighth Earl of Kildare was on his way back to Ireland as the newly appointed English Deputy once again for Henry V11, as his arrest had also led to a Geraldine rebellion in Ireland, which had kept Sir Edward Poynings busy.

August 5th: Gerald Mor Fitz Gerald the Anglo - Norman eighth Earl of Kildare was given Henry V11's cousin in marriage, and he left his eldest son in England with Henry V11 as a hostage, as an assurance of commitment to him only, and because of this he had been reappointed the English Lord Deputy in Ireland for the next 10 years and was allowed to appoint all the English Ministers in Ireland, except for the Chancery, and was given all the lands he could secure from England's Irish "enemies" and any of the "Irish Rebels" who were against the Welsh Usurper Henry V11 in Ireland, but direct rule for Ireland was out of the question. To these ends and to show his commitment to the English cause, Gerald Mor Fitz Gerald the eighth Earl of Kildare, on arriving in Ireland burnt the Cathedral at Cashel in Co. Tipperary in the north - east of the Munster Province for Henry VII, and told him he did it because he thought the Catholic Archbishop of Cashel was inside, but he was was not.

     Conor na Shrona - of the Big Nose O Brian the Heberian Dalcassian King of Northern Munster / Thomond, died this year, after a 30 year rule and Turlough Oge Gilla Dubh - the Younger of Dark Complexion O Brian, a son of Teague / Tadhg Cromhadh O Brian, was now to rule in Co. Clare for 3 years and 3 months until 1499 AD.   

1497 AD Conor / Conchobar was now the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai King of Moylurg / Mag Luirc who had their kingdom and territory in Co. Roscommon in the east of the Connacht Province.

     Conn O Donnell, the son of Aed Ruad - of Red Complexion O Donnell, was killed by Eigneachan O Donnell 11, a Prince / Tanaiste of the Heremonian Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Niaill Cenel Conaill who was a son of Nechtain O Donell, and Aed Ruad O Donnell gave up his position as their King on account of his sons, and Conn O Donnell was proclaimed  the King in his place and the Battle of Ballagh Bay occurred were Teague Mac Dermot was to defeat Conn O Donnell, and many of the Cenel Conaill were killed and captured. 123.Henry / Enri Og - the Younger O Niall from the Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain also raided the O Donnell kingdom of Tyrconnell / Co. Donegal in the north - west of the Ulster Province and defeated Conn O Donnell at Bel Atha Daire / Daile who was also killed, and his sons, Donnell O Donnell and Niall O Donnell and Niall Garb - the Rough O Donnell were captured, and Niall O Donnell was to eventually die while in captivity, and many of the members of the Cenel Conaill Sept in Tyrconnell were also killed. Aed Ruad O Donnell was to now take back the Cenel Conaill Kingship until his death in 1505 AD, and his son Aed O Donnell was also released from captivity.     

      During this year Sir Thomas Fitz Gerald the Anglo - Norman Baron was slain by one of the Anglo - Norman Butlers. 

    Pope Alexander VI forbid the pilgrims who travelled from all over Europe to go to St. Patrick's Purgatory that is situated in the cave on Station Island, which is 130 yards x 60 yards situated on Loch Derg in Co. Donegal in the west of the Ulster Province where St. Patrick had spent 40 days to drive the Devil out of Ireland). 

     Eleanor Mac William Burke, the daughter of Fitz Gerald the seventh Anglo - Norman English Earl of Kildare, who was the wife of 123.Conn O Niall, the son of 122.Enri O Niall, died. 

     Perkin Warbeck was to sail from Co. Cork in Southern Munster to Cornwall where he was to proclaim himself the young Yorkist Prince, Richard IV against the Welsh Tudor Usurper, Henry VII, but he would be captured and hung by the English 2 years later, as was the Mayor of Cork.

1498 AD 123.Enri Og - the Younger O Niall, the son of 122.Henry / Enri O Niall, the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Cenel nEogain King was killed at Doirin in Fhiadha by the sons of Conn O Niall to avenge their father' death.

     Turlough Gilla Dub - the Younger of Dark Complexion O Brian, the Heberian Dal gCais King of Northern Munster / Thomond, the son of Turlough O Brian, died this year.

    Cormac Mac Coghlan the son of Eoghan Mac Coghlan the son of the Bishop, who was an official at Clonmacnoise, died this year. 

      Slaine Mac William / Burke the daughter of Sheeda Cam Mac Namara, and the wife of Ulick Mac William Burke of Clan Rickarde, died this year.   

1499 AD The English Galls set up in Kilkenny City in Co. Kilkenny / Ossory in the south - west of Southern Leinster marched to aid the Butlers the Anglo - Norman English Earls of Ormonde, who had their confiscated Estates there, against Turlough Oge - the Younger O Brian who was now the Heberian Dal gCais Ui mBriain King of Northern Munster / Thomond, who defeated them.

     Gerald Mor Fitz Gerald the Anglo - Norman eighth Earl of Kildare had The O Donnell foster his son, and this enabled him further to be able to keep the peace and also gather forces there in the north in the Ulster Province.

     Henry V11 the Welsh Usurper Tudor King of England was to suppress the Lordship of the Isles in the Highlands of Scotland and the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Colla Uais Mac Donalds / Mac Donnells then moved to Islay, Rathlin Island and Co. Antrim in the north - east of the Ulster Province, while the Redshanks from the Hebrides then also spread westward against the Anglo - Norman Mac Quillans / de Mandevilles the English Lords of the Route in the north - east of Ulster and southward against the Heremonian Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Niaill O Nialls of Clannaboye, and they were also to enlist with the Ulster Kings, and Flemings were to also come into there from Wales, and much later on Huguenot refugees from France.

      Teague Mac Dermot who was the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai Mac Diarmada King of Moylurg / Mag Luirc and of the Airtech / Ciarraige Airtig, the Tir Tuathail and the Clann Cathail who all had their territory in Co. Roscommon in the east of the Connacht Province, died at Mac Dermot's Rock  / Carraic Locha Ce and was succeeded by his brother, Cormac Mac Dermot, who was another son of Rory Mac Dermot.

 1500 - 1528 AD  Turlough Don - of Brown Complexion O Brian, (the nephew of Conor na Shrona - of the Big Nose O Brian and the son of Teague / Tadhg Chromadh O Brian), became the new King of Northern Munster / Thomond, and to express his new found authority he besieged nearby Limerick City in Co. Limerick on the south - eastern side of the River Shannon, while his uncle, Mac William / Burke from the Anglo - Norman Clan Rickarde also besieged the O Kellys from the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Colla Da Crioch Ui Maine who had their territory in the east of the Connacht Province and also seized their castles. In response they called in Gerald Mor Fitz Gerald the English Lord High Justice and Anglo - Norman eighth Earl of Kildare with an army from the east and the north, including Aed O Donnell  / The O Donnell and his son, and a group of the 3 Connachta from the Connacht Province, including Mac Dermot the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai Mac Diarmada King of Moylurg and his followers. 

     Bunratty Castle in Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province was to be taken over also by the Heberian Dal gCais Ui mBriain Sept until the coming of the Civil War in England, when they would then allow the English Puritan Parliament forces under Admiral Penn, the father of William Penn the founder of Pennsylvania in America, to take possession of it.

    60  Irish Chiefs were still somehow surviving at this time, including The O Niall, The O Donnell, The Maguire, The Mac Mahon and The O Reilly who all had their kingdoms and territories in the Ulster Province, while the The O Byrne, The O More, The O Connor Faly all had their kingdoms and territories in Southern Leinster, The Mac Carthy Mor and the The O Brian in the Munster Province, and The O Connor in the Connacht Province, as the Gaelic Irish Septs still retained some control over their individual territories. The Old English / Anglo - Irish from out of The English Pale surrounding Dublin in Co. Dublin in Southerrn Leinster had also since intermarried with the Gaelic Irish and were becoming, "More Irish then the Irish," and by now were having more in common with the Mere Irish population then with the actual English themselves. The Anglo - Norman Fitz Geralds the English Earls of Desmond in the south of the Munster Province, controlled Co. Cork, Co. Kerry, Co. Limerick and Co. Waterford, while the other Anglo - Norman Fitz Geralds the English Earls of Kildare controlled the whole of the Munster Province, with the Anglo - Norman Fitz Maurices and the de Barrys. The consistently English reared for an English purpose and fully committed Butlers controlled the region of Ormonde, wich was mainly Ossory / Co. Kilkenny in the south - west of Southern Leinster, while the Anglo - Norman Berminghams and Burkes were still trying to maintain overall control in the Connacht Province. Meanwhile in the Ulster Province the Heremonian Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain O Nialls, and their kinsmen the Heremonian Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Niaill Cenel Conaill O Donnells kept the English at bay, even to pushing them out of their territory there. (The Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain O Hagans / Ui hAgain of Tulach, and their Cenel nEogain kinsmen, the O Canes / Kanes / Ui Cathain Septs, were still responsible for installing The O Niall on the Inauguration Mound there where it still remained in their possession at this time.     

            The Clara Castle was constructed in Co. Kilkenny / Ossory in the south - west of Southern Leinster against the Irish Septs there and it is still there to be seen, and the Bally Teague Castle was also constructed at Kilmore Quay in Co. Waterford in the south - east of the Munster Province on Forlorn Point adjacent to the Saltee Islands offshore, for the very same reason.
