601 AD With their expanding overall authority the Heremonian Dal Cuinn "southern" Ui Niaill Septs were able to impose their over - lordship further into Southern Leinster this year, after they defeated 98.Bran Dubh - of Dark Complexion the Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Lughaidh Cu Corb Ui Cheinnselaig 7th King of Leinster in the Battle of Slaibhre.

      Comghall, died.

Colman the Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Connla King of Ossory, who had his territory in Co. Kilkenny in the south - west of Southern Leinster, died this year, who was a son of either Feradach or Aed, and 99.Ronan Righfhlaith became the new Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Connla King of Ossory until 624 AD, who was a son of 98.Colman Mor the previous 1st King of Ossory.

Pope Gregory established the Catholic See of Canterbury in England where he had made the Anglo - Saxon St. Augustine / St. Austin - the first Primate there, and also gave him the authority over the older Celtic Catholic Churches in Briton and Ireland and advised him not only to demand their obedience, but to set aside their Celtic religious customs to which the Irish Celtic Catholics and the Welsh Celtic Catholics had taken exception to and refused to submit.

96.Aodh Caomh - the Gentle the Heberian Dal gCais Ui Bloid King of Munster, died, who was the eldest son of 95.Conall descended from 85.Cormac Cass - of the Curly Hair who had been the 2nd King of Munster and 1st King of Thomond / Northern Munster the second oldest  son of 84.Ailill Oluimm who had been the 1st King of Munster.

601 / 602 AD 97.Uatu mac Aedo the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai 9th King of Connacht, died, whose father had been 96.Aed mac Echach the previous 8th King of Connacht, who was descended from 93.Murray / Muireadach Mal the direct male line ancestor of the Ui Briuin Ai  Septs. 98.Reilly / Raghallach, his son, would become the future Ui Briuin Ai 12th King of Connacht and the direct male line ancestor of all of the Ui Briuin Ai Septs in the Connacht Province who would now become more involved in the numerous conflicts that were to occur there.

Brendan / Brenainn the son of Cairpre the son of; Feichine, died. Death of Colum Cille ?

An earthquake occurred in the Ui Bairrche Septs'territory.

601 / 602 AD The Battle of Slemain occurred in which Colman Rimid the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Cenel nEogain King was the victor and Conall Cu the son of Aed the previous Heremonian Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Niaill Cenel Conaill 140th King of Ireland, the son of Ainmire escaped. The Battle of Cuil Cail also occurred in which Fiachra the son of Deman escaped and Fiachtna and Baetan were the victors.

601 - 607 AD  *92.Aedh Uaridnach the Heremonian Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain 8th King of Aileach in the north of the Ulster Province as a Tanaiste / heir apparent now claimed the right to to become the 143rd King of Ireland, who was a son of *94.Donnell / Domhnall Ilchelgach the previous joint 134th King of Ireland descended from 91.Eogan the 1st King of Aileach who had been one of the 8 sons of *90.Niall - of the Nine Hostages the 126th King of Tara / Ireland. The Dal Cuinn Ui Niaill overall Kingship of Ireland, previously shared, was supposed to alternate between the "northern" and "southern" Ui Niaill Septs. *95.Aed Uaridnach's claim was therefore not acceptable to the Heberian Eoghanachta Septs, who were descended from 85.Eoghan Mor, who by now totally controlled the south in the Munster Province due to the decline of any authority there from the male line of his younger brother, 85.Cormac Cass - of the Curly Hair in Northern Munster. The Dal Cuinn "southern" and "northern" Ui Niaill Septs from now on were to receive no serious challenge to their overall authority in Ireland until the 10th Century AD, which was then to come from the Heberian line of 85.Cormac Cass the direct male line ancestor of the Dal gCais Sept who had their territory in Thomond / Northern  Munster. The Heremonian Dal Cuinn "northern" and "southern" Ui Niaill Septs dominance over the other Gaelic Milesian Septs in Ireland was by now firmly established and *95.Aedh Uaridnach became the Heremonian Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain 143rd King of Ireland who was another son of *94.Domhnall Ilchelgach the previous 134th King of Ireland.

602 AD A dynasty change now occurred amongst the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Septs once again in the Connacht Province, when 96.Mael Cothaid aka Donn Cothaid became the Heremonian Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Fiachrach Fir Chera 10th King of Connacht, who was a son of 95.Mael Umai, a son of 94.Feradach the previous Ui Fiachrach 7th King of Connacht, a son of 93.Ross, a son of 92.Maine Munbrecc the son of 91.Mac Ercae the direct male line ancestor of the Fir Chera Sept. 91.Mac Ercae had been one of 3 sons of 90.Fiachra the second Dal Cuinn King of Connacht who was also the direct male line ancestor of all the Dal Cuinn Ui Fiachrach Septs there in the Connacht Province. Although 96.Mael Cothaid was to be set up at Rath Mulcah under the auspices of the "northern" Ui Fiachrach Muirse Sept, he would also soon die this year after he was to be defeated by the Dal Cuinn "southern" Ui Niaill Cenel Cairbre / Coirpre Sept who had another separated territory of theirs nearby. They were descended from 91.Cairbre / Coirpre another of the 8 sons of *90.Niall - of the Nine Hostages. This dispute had come about due to who had the control over a route that run through the territory there that they also held nearby in Co. Sligo in the north - west of Connacht. The Dal Cuinn Ui Fiachrach Muirse Sept were then to lose their previous hold on their territory there at Moy and had to go further south in Connacht, to escape the expanding pressure from the other Dal Cuinn Septs, where they would evolve into the Dal Cuinn Ui Fiachrach Fir Chera Sept who were then situated in mid - western Connacht.

       91. Awley / Auley / Amalgaid, another of 90.Fiachra's 3 sons, had been the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Fiachrach 1st King of Connacht who had, had his territory in Tir nAmalgado (The Land of 91.Awley) in the north of the Connacht Province who had ruled the territory there previously for 20 years. There were also 2 other Dal Cuinn Ui Fiachrach Septs descending from his other son, *91.Dathi / Nathi / Feradach who had been the  Gaelic Milesian Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Fiachrach 127th King of Tara / Ireland, who had also produced 3 aristocratic warrior sons of his own, who were now to take over the male line of the Dal Cuinn Ui Fiachrach Kingship of Connacht and move it forward. One of these sons, 92.Eochy / Echu was to become the direct male line ancestor of 97.Colman who would be the Dal Cuinn "southern" Ui Fiachrach Aidni 11th King of Connacht, while in turn his son 98.Guaire Aidni the heir apparent / Tanaiste was to become the future 14th King of Connacht who would advance the Dal Cuinn "southern" Ui Fiachrach Sept to reach their peak of influence in Connacht. In the meantime, another of *91.Dathi's sons, 92.Fiachnae had become the direct male line ancestor of 96.Dunchad Muirisci the future Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Fiachrach 16th King of Connacht who would eventually control all of the territory there in the north at Moy. *92.Ailill Molt, the other son of *91.Dathi, had not only been the previous Dal Cuinn Ui Fiachrach 2nd King of Connacht, but also the Gaelic Milesian Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Fiachrach 129th King of Tara / Ireland as he had had succeeded *91.Leary / Laoghaire the first Gaelic Milesian Heremonian Dal Cuinn "southern" Ui Niaill 128th King of Tara / Ireland who had been the only one of the 8 sons of *90.Niall - of the Nine Hostages the 126th King of Tara / Ireland to gain the overall Kingship in their own right.

602 / 603 AD  The Battle of Echros occurred in the north of the Connacht Province at Muiresc / Muirisci between the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Niaill Cenel Cairpre Sept and the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Fiachrach Muiresc Sept and 96.Mael Cothaid the Dal Cuinn Ui Fiachrach King was driven off and later died.

603 AD Owing to the Gaelic Milesian Heremonian Dal Cuinn kinship that still existed at this time 95.Mael Umai, a son of *94.Baetan mac Murtaugh / Muirchertaig the previous Gaelic Milesian Heremonian Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain 137th King of Ireland, who had his Sept's territory in the Ulster Province, assisted 89.Aedan the Heremonian Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain Scottii King of Dal Riada, who now had his territory in the Scottish Highlands. In a battle at Degastan, Eanfrith the brother of the Saxon King Aethelfrith of Northumbria was slain. 95.Fiachnae mac Baetan the Gaelic Milesian Irian 7th Dal nAraidi King who had his Sept's territory in the north - east of the Ulster Province was also an ally of 89.Aedan also at this time.

The Heremonian Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain Septs, descended from 91.Eogan, one of the 8 sons of 90.Niall - of the Nine Hostages the previous Gaelic Milesian 126th King of Tara / Ireland, were from now on to continue to expand their particular Sept's territory further during the next  two Centuries in the Ulster Province surrounding the Co. Derry region and moving out from Inishowen / Inis Eogain they were to eventually also gain the over - lordship there of their Heremonian Dal Cuinn 3 Colla kinsmen in the south of Ulster, in their kingdom of Orghialla / Oriel, and especially the region nearby in Co. Tyrone in Central Ulster.

The Battle of Sliab Cua occurred in Munster / Mumu. Fintan mac Echdach, died this year as did Sinell the Bishop of Mag Bili.

*94.Aed Slaine, who had reigned jointly with *95.Colman Rimid, as the Heremonian Dal Cuinn "southern" Ui Niaill joint 141st King of Ireland, was also killed during a conflict at Loch Semhedidhe by the forces of 99.Conal Guithbhinn who was now the Heremonian Dal Cuinn "southern" Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain 11th King of Meath whose territory was also in the south - east of Northern Leinster. 99.Conall Guithbhinn was a son of 95.Sweeney / Suibhne who had been the 8th King of Meath previously killed in battle against *94.Aed Slaine. (Aedh Gustan a foster brother of 96.Conall Guithbhinn, and Baethghal Bile had wounded him during the conflict.) 96.Conall Guithbhinn also killed Aed Roin the Heremonian Cu Corb King of the Ui Failghe Sept at Faithche mac Mencnain near Loch Semdid, and also Aed Buidhe - of the Yellow Hair the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Colla Da Crioch King of the Ui Maine Sept the same day that *94.Aed Slaine was killed. *94.Aed Slaine was to become the direct male line ancestor of the Siol nAedo Slaine Sept whose male line from now on would produce 9 "southern" Ui Niaill Kings of Ireland up until 956 AD, beginning with himself. 92.Sweeney's Heremonian Dal Cuinn "southern" Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain Sept's male line through 99.Conal Guthbinn would nevertheless persist further in the future in the Kingships producing the "southern" Ui Niaill Kings of Ireland up until *107.Malachy 11 the 174th King of Ireland who was to die in 1022 AD.

On seeing his 99.Ronan's younger son, 100.Mael Fathartaigh she fell for him instead and tried to seduce him, but he shunned her advances, so she then incited 99.Ronan against him who then accused 100.Mael Fathartaigh of having a desire for her, and in his rage his father had Aedan who was one of his warriors, spear his son, who as he lay dying was able to convince his father of his innocence, and 99.Ronan was then grief stricken at what he had done to his own son.
