Galway in the south - west of the Connacht Province on the 12th of July,1691 AD after nearly defeating their forces there in one of the most decisive battles in Irish history. One of his officers, Durnin then severed his head from his lifeless body and rode day and night until he reached the Family burial ground on the Island of Devenish / Daimhinis (Ox Island) in Loch Erne 3 miles north of Enniskillen, which was also connected with St. Molaisse who had founded the monastery there in the 6th Century AD.
