Mac Areavy - Irish / Mheic Giolla Riabhaigh - riabhach (grey or brindled) some also known as Mac Gilreevy or Mac Ilreavy in Co. Antrim in the north - east of the Ulster Province and Co. Down in the south - east of Ulster Province and also used as a synonym for Mac Greevy, which see.

 

Mac Aree - Irish / Mheic Fhearadhaigh - fearadhach / manly. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Monaghan in Southern Ulster and some changed to King - Irish / Mheic an Ri. (Descended from a son of the King)  because it was similar sounding. Also see Mac Carry.

Argue. Not English in Co. Cavan in Southern Ulster. If Irish unknown as yet, but could be Mheic Giolla Fhearga. There is a Killargue / Kilarga / Cill Fhearga in Co. Leitrim in Northern Connacht.

 

O Arkins - Irish / Ua hOrcain. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in Co. Clare in the north - west of Thomond / Tuaisceart  Mhumhain / Northern Munster. Not connected to Harkin in Co. Donegal in the north - west of the Ulster Province.
