In 1653 Daniel O Cahill, the brother of Bogh O Cahill, the Chief of the Clann had his castle and territory at Bally Cahill also confiscated by Oliver Cromwell and it was granted to Edward Annesley in 1654 AD and the O Cahill Family was transported to Bally Glass in Co. Mayo, His son Daniel was to be the father of William O Cahill who married Mary the daughter of Michael Mulhall and produced John Cahill and Thomas Cahill. After the Battle of the Boyne they migrated to Co. Laois and Thomas was married to Bridget the daughter of Owen Harte and produced 4 sons, Daniel who married Catherine Brett and produced Daniel William Cahill who died in America in 1864 and was interred in Glasnevin Cemetery in Dublin in 1885, and in 1887 a statue was erected over his grave for his Service to Ireland. Thomas Cahill's other sons were Thomas, Oliver Cahill and another Daniel. Oliver Cahill died in 1859 and left 3 sons, Patrick Cahill, John Cahill and Thomas Cahill.

Ancestors: 126.Thomas O Cahan, a younger brother of 126.Richard, who supported James 11, and after the Battle of the Boyne settled in Co. Leitrim, 127.Simon O Cahan his son was born in 1717 and died in 1790 who was an only child who joined in with Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1745 AD and later returned to Ireland and married producing 4 sons and 5 daughters, 128.Thomas O Cahan his eldest son was born in 1766 AD and when he died in 1844 he was interred at Cloone in Co. Leitrim. He had been previously involved in the Irish Rebellion in 1798 at the Battle of Ballinamuck leading the horse brigade where he was known as Captain Rock of Co. Leitrim / The Old Captain. His Lieutenant Terence Mac Glavin was shot dead and he made the effort to recover and inter his body in his families grave, 129.Simon Henry O Cahan went to England and changed his name to Henry Caine who had been born in 1805 and had later also dropped the O, and in 1850 when he assumed the name Caine.
