of Co. Tipperary. Irish / Ua Duibhir / Ua Dubhuidhir - dubh odhar (sallow, dark or dun - coloured). Tipperary in the north - east of Aur Mhumhain / Ormond / North Eastern Munster and later in Southern Leinster and were kindred to the O Carberys and O Lees. The O Dwyers were Kings and stood out in the resistance to the English ethnic and religious oppression and survived as an aristocratic Irish Family Sept until modern times. Michael Dwyer was involved in the United Irishmen Societies' rising in 1798 AD and continued on with the resistance until 1803 AD when he was transported to Australia where he became the High Constable in Sydney. Their Castle was Ballysheeda at Kilmananagh where it is also known as the Cappagh White Castle. Donohill / Dun Eochaille (The Fort of the Yew Wood) in Co.
