GENTIAN ROOT / Gentiana lutea. Snow Lines of Europe. Actions: especially useful as a Bitters to assist the Stomach, Gastric Stimulant, Cholagogue, Choleretic, Diuretic, The best Herb to use as a Sialagogue and Stimulates the Taste Buds, regarded Anti - Bacterial, Anti  - Inflammatory, as one of the best Tonics known. Cultivation: A small rock plant with flowers of intense blue. Product: the Root is used dug up in Autumn. Decoction: 1/2 Teaspoon of the Dried Herb per cup. Tincture: 1 - 4 ml 3 times a day.

Product: the Leaves & Flowers have stimulating, Soothing & Healing properties. GINGER / Zinigiber officinale. Zingiberaceae / China - West Indies. Immune System herb. Actions: Analgesic, Anti - Fungal, Anti - Inflammatory, Anti - Histamine, Carminative, Diaphoretic, Digestive Stimulant, Expectorant, Rubefacient and especially a general Stimulant. Cultivation: The plant grown by seed or Rhizome segments containing one or two buds in rich moist well - drained soil is about 3' high / 1 metre - with glossy Aromatic lanceolate leaves and many fibrous leaf stalks. Products: Use the freshly dug pale yellow Rhizome - Fleshy Roots / Hands dried & peeled in Late Summer or Early Autumn. If drying dig up 10 months after planting. Used in Confectionary & Sauces as it tastes good and can be used also in cooking or pour boiling water on it to make a refreshing drink.

 

     Used to Treat: Amenorrhoea: has Enzymes that break down Protein - Proteolytics. Pain: also used as a pain reliever at 2 - 4 teaspoons of powdered Ginger a day or use externally as a hot Compress to relieve Abdominal Cramps, Head - Ache & Joint Stiffness and add hot Pepper to the Compress.
