Seanchus of Celtic Ireland - 12
1934 BC The Fir Bolg (Men of the Bag) descended from Nemedh through his grandson, Simeon Breac, who were at this time still in bondage in Greece seized the ships of their masters and made their way back to Ireland and on arriving they set up their main fortress on a high hill area that they called Druinn Cain (Beautiful Eminence,) which is now known as Tara / Teamhair in the region that was to become part of the Midland Province / Midhe Cuigi. It is now known as Co. Meath and is in the south - east of Northern Leinster situated in a position that was to join all of the 5 Fir Bolg kingdoms, that they were to institute in Ireland in their 5 Cuigi (Provinces) under Gann, Geanann, Rory / Rudraige Seangann and Slainge, their 5 Fir Bolg Chiefs, who were the 5 sons of Deala, a son of Loich, and each were to take turns at ruling the whole island from Tara / Teamhair. Slainge who was to give his name to the River Slaine in Co. Wexford in the south - east of Southern Leinster became their overall King from 1934 BC until 1933 BC. Rory was to be their King from 1933 BC until 1931 BC, Gann and Geanann would be joint Kings from 1931 BC until 1927 BC and Seangann would be their King from 1927 BC until 1922 BC. The original Fir Bolg migration under the 5 sons of Deala would be under the rule of 9 Kings altogether. Fiacha Cennfinnian who was to rule from 1922 BC until 1917 BC, Rinnal from 1917 until 1911 BC, Fodbgen from 1911 until 1907 BC, and finally Eochy / Eochaidh from 1907 BC until 1897 BC. They would control Ireland for 37 years overall with all of their 5 individual Fir Bolg Provinces joining together at Balor's Hill (later to be known as the Hill of Uisnech) situated in the Midlands / Midhe / Meath in Northern Leinster.
Another Celtic Sept who came later on as the Fir Domnainn (People of Domnu) were also collectively to be known as the Fir Bolg who would settle in the regions now known as the Munster Province. but at first they would mainly settle in at Erris in Co. Mayo in the mid - west of the Connacht Province, known then as Iarras Domain. Another similar Celtic Sept the Fir Gaillion (Men of the Spear), was to land on the east - coast and settle in the territory there now known as Southern Leinster.
With the coming of the Bronze Age the use of metal had come into its own and the people in Ireland were then to move from the Stone Age period towards the Iron Age, as bronze workings were introduced, and during this period came the building of the first crannogs / water forts, which were lake dwellings for protection against their wandering enemies, and the giant wolves that also roamed Ireland at that time and were to continue to do so right up until the 18th Century AD. The crannogs, named for the Irish word for tree / crann, were artificial islands built in the lochs (lakes) and the marshy areas to provide protection prior to the building of their stone or wooden forts and were to still be constructed even after that early period. Among those crannogs to be discovered later on would be the 30 at Loch Gara near Boyle / Mainistir an Buille (Boyle Monastery) in Co. Roscommon in the east of the Connacht Province that were proved to emanate from the Bronze Age and earlier.
1897 BC The 5 original Fir Bolg Septs had by this time ruled over Ireland for 37 years with 9 consecutive Kings, and Eochy / Eochaidh - the Proud, a son of Erc, had been their King now during the last 10 years. Up until this year it had been 237 years since the original 3 Scythian Nemedian Septs, descended from the 3 grandsons of Nemedh, had all left Ireland to escape the never - ending persecution of the Hamitic Fomorii Sea Pirates who had been situated on Tory Island in the north - west of what is now Co. Donegal in the Ulster Province.
This year the Tuatha De Danann (The People of Danu / Anu / Ana / or Sword People) who were a Celtic Bronze Age Sept, who were the long lost Scythian Nemedian kinsmen to the Fir Bolg, were also to arrive back into Ireland from Persia or Greece via Spain, but by now they had gained great artistic skills in 4 cities known then as Falias, Findias, Gorias and Murias, and had also acquired bronze swords and were high spirited. They were descended from Iobath, who had been another of the 3 Nemedian Chiefs, who had been the son of Beathach / Beothach, who 237 years before had taken his group to Boeotia and Northern Europe where they had gained a greater perspective and broader opportunities. Because of their previous opportunity to gain greater knowledge they would seem to the Fir Bolg to also have unusual magical powers. Among their exceptional warriors at first was to be Nuadha their King, who also had a special sword, and later on, Lew / Lugh who would become their King also, who was to have a magnificent lance and sling. Eochy / Eochaidh Ollathair / Daghda / Dada Mor - the Great Father (All Father) was to have a special cauldron, The Undry, which would provide the Tuatha de Danann with their sustenance in proportion to their merits, as he was big on porridge himself and also had a wonderful Oak harp, which would be of the utmost importance to them as the Seasons rolled around. Grey headed he wore a low necked tunic down to his hips, and a hooded cape over his shoulders with horse hide boots, with the smooth side turned in covering his legs and feet. His main weapon was an eight - pronged club, which was so large and heavy that he had to pull it behind him on a wheel. Boann, who was his wife, was to give her name to the River Boyne, whose original source in earlier times was once only a Well that was surrounded by 9 Hazel trees that produced crimson nuts that contained the right mineral elements to stimulate the processes in the brain. The Daghda Mor was to be the father of Angus Og - the Younger, Bodb the Red, Brigid, Mider and Ogma Cermait - of the Honey Mouth who would invent Ogma inscription writing. Angus Og also had a golden harp that produced music so sweet that no one could hear it and not be entranced by it, especially young lovers, and he was to eventually settle his family along the River Boyne itself. (In time because of his musical ability Angus Og was to represent the essence of youthful love and beauty for the Scythian Celtic Gaelic Milesians who were to come into Ireland later on and gain sovereignty over the Tuatha De Danann). Ogma Cermait was married to Etain, a daughter of Diancecht their physician, and 2 of their offspring were to be Tuirenn, and Cairpre / Cairbre who was to become their Bard (poet / learned man.) Later Brigid was to also become especially very important to the Scythian Celtic Gaelic Milesians, representing home, hearth, fire and poetry. Mider was to eventually set himself up on the Isle of Man / Mana / Falga were he was to become an introvert and shun the outside World.
The Tuatha De Danann also brought with them the Stone of Fal / Lia Fal (The Stone of Destiny) that would be used by the many Celtic Gaelic Milesian Kings of Tara at their Inaugurations, as it was supposed to make the correct sounds when the lawful King stood upon it, as it had been the Stone on which 22.Jacob / Israel had rested his head after he left Beersheba for Haran, where he had a dream of a stairway to Heaven with angels going up and down to Heaven on it. At the same time 22.Jacob had also had a vision of God / YHWH standing beside him at the time, who promised him the land on which he slept and he named it Bethel, and when he awoke he took the Lia Fail stone and set it up as a memorial, pouring olive oil over it, and dedicated it to God and paid him homage there. Although the Lia Fail Stone was to be originally set up at Tara it would be removed eventually from its initial spot there to another site close by to mark the graves later on of those United Irishmen who in 1798 AD were to give their all due to the ongoing oppression of the English, and it now signifies the Croppies Grave on Tara. The Tuatha de Danann Kings were to be at Tara in Co. Meath in the south - east of Northern Leinster mostly, Croaghan in the Connacht Province or Aileach Nead in Co. Donegal in the Ulster Province.
Cairpre / Cairbre, Aoi and Aedan were to be the original bards / poets of the Tuatha De Danann who were to come to especially honour Lew / Lugh Mi na Lugna (The Master of all Skills and Crafts) who would be their future King, and in respect for him they were to continue to hold a celebration each August at Tailtui / Telltown known as Lughnasa.
