Seanchus of Celtic Ireland - 16
The warriors of the Tuath De Danann Sept had lined up against their Fomorian opposite numbers, except for Lugh, who was personally guarded by 9 of his men, but he had not been content with just standing by, and had immediately jumped into his chariot and drove to the front line of the Tuatha De Danann and cried out, "Fight bravely, for it is better to face death than to live in servitude and pay tribute." He then drove his chariot around all of his warriors, so that they might see that he was physically involved with them. The opposing forces on each side had then made their individual charge towards each other, one on one, and there was soon to be so much blood spilt in this battle that they found it hard to keep their footing, while the nearby River Unsenn soon became a mass of floating bodies. Ogma was able to kill Indech, the son of Domnu, but Balor of the Stiff Blows / of the Evil Eye was to kill Nuadha - of the Silver Hand as well as one of his wives, Macha. (Nuadha would later be interred in the Grianan of Ailech in the north of the Ulster Province the fortress previously constructed there by the Fir Bolg that would in the future come to represent the centre of the Dal Cuinn northern Ui Niaill kingdom of Ailech there. Eventually Balor of the Evil Eye found himself face to face with own grandson, Lugh, who took up his sling and flung a tathlum stone at him and it struck home with a vengeance. (This was a solid stone used by the ancient warriors, that was hardened with lime meant to take out the Brain) Balor of the Evil Eye was now so badly injured that the Fomorii on seeing his dilemma faltered, and Morrigu then came forward to give further encouragement to the Tuatha De Danann warriors who were able to drive the Hamitic Fomorii back to the sea. (Because of his amazing dexterity with the tathlum stone, Lugh was also to gain another epithet becoming also known as Lugh Lamhfada - of the Long Hand or Far - Shooter).
The Tuatha De Danann warriors continued to pursue the Fomorians and finally captured Breas who was then to beg Lugh to spare his life, and in this regard he took counsel with the Tuatha De Danann Druids, and it was agreed that his life was to be spared and Lugh, the Daghda Mor and Ogma then continued on after the rest of the retreating Fomorians across the Ocean to their fortress on Tory Island. The Fomorii had previously stolen the Daghda Mor's oaken harp and he wanted to get it back and so they carried on the search there on Tory Island until they were to find it eventually there hanging on the wall at the residence of Breas and Elathan. Despite their overall success over the Fomorians on this occasion, this was not to mean the end of these troublesome foes, as four of the Fomorian warriors had still remained behind on the mainland in Ireland where they now persisted in destroying the crops and food supplies of the Tuatha De Danann. Angus Og - the Younger, Badb / Bodb - the Red, Midir / Mider and Morrigu from the Tuatha De Danann were then to pursue these 4 remaining Fomorian troublemakers until they were able to drive them out of Ireland altogether, and Badb and Morrigu then went up into the mountains where they proclaimed the Tuatha De Danann victory over the Fomorii to everyone they came across. (The Pillar Stones that originally marked the graves of all those who died in this particular battle still stand upon the Plain of Carrowmore in Co. Sligo in the north - west of the Connacht Province for all to see.) These would be examined later on in more modern times, and it was found that they contained burnt wood and the half - burnt bones of humans and horses as well as weapons of flint and bone. (Oonagh who was to be a respected goddess of the Tuatha de Danann, who was the wife of King Fionnbharr the King of the Fairies, came to be the Queen of the Daoine Sidh). The Tuatha De Danann had a great belief in goblins, sprites and demons becoming involved during their battles.
Lugh Lamhfada, - of the Long Hand who had succeeded Nuadha as the Tuatha De Danann King was to rule Ireland for 40 years until 1830 BC, and during this time he was to begin the Fair at Telltown near Blackwater in the Midlands / Midhe / Meath / Northern Leinster and from his time on it was to be held right up until the 12th Century AD on Lughnasa / August 1st. He did this to commemorate his foster mother, Taillte, who was the daughter of Magh Mor the Iberian / Spanish King, and who had been the previous wife of Eochy - the Proud the last Fir Bolg King who the Tuatha De Danann had initially defeated to gain control in Ireland. (After the original battle at Moytura she had married a Tuatha De Danann Chief and had undertook to rear Lugh). Lugh was to be killed by mac Cuil on the Hill of Uisnech in Co. Westmeath in the south - west of Northern Leinster and he was to be succeeded by the Daghda Mor / Eochy Ollathair, a son of Elathan, who was to eventually die from a wound that he had received in the second battle at North Moytura against the Fomorians. (He had been pierced by a poisoned spear thrown by Kathleen, the wife of Balor of the Stiff Blows / of the Evil Eye, and was to be buried at Brugh na Boinne the ancient burial place of the ancient Kings of Ireland). After the Daghda Mor had given up the Tuatha De Danann Kingship 5 separate individuals had laid claim to it, Angus, Ilbhreach the son of Manannan, Ler, Mider and Bodb - the Red who was chosen. Ler refused to acknowledge him, but would later reconcile, Mider fled to Mount Leinster in Co. Carlow in Southern Leinster and a war had to be waged on him to bring him to subjection.
1750 BC Deal Baeth, became the Tuatha De Danann King until 1740 BC, who was a son of Ogma Cermait - of the Honey Mouth of literature and eloquence or aka Grianainech - of the Sunny Face, whose father had been Eochy Ollathair / the Daghda Mor - the Great Father, and Ogma had been the one who had previously invented the Ogham graphology. When he died, Ogma Cermait would be interred in Aircealtair.
In Ogham every letter was ascribed to a specific tree and colour. This was to lead on to the introduction of Ogham Stones throughout Ireland and other Celtic areas, Scotland, the Isle of Man, South Wales, Devonshire, and Silchester in Hampshire (later known as Callena Attribatum under Roman rule). It was basically composed of notches cut crossways or strokes to signify a message on sticks, upright pillar stones and wands. Vowels - Divided by a Line = A* - 1, O** - 11, U*** - 111, E**** - 1111, I***** - 11111. Consonants = Under a Line B - 1, L -11, F - 111, S - 1111, N - 11111. Deal Baeth was to be succeeded in the Tuath De Danann Kingship later on by Fiacha, and the Tuatha De Danann Kings were to rule from Tara in Meath / Midhe / Northern Leinster, from were they were to leave after they were to be defeated later on by the Celtic Gaelic Milesians. Their Mountain of Fair Women / tSlieve Namon / Sliab na mBan was situated to the south - east of Cashel in Co. Tipperary in the north - east of the Munster Province. Their Sid of Femen (Beyond the Plain of Femen) is where Bodb Dearg - the Red another of the Tuatha De Danann Kings lived, which is also in Munster, but it was also recorded that he came to rule over the territory that is now the Connacht Province.
Prior to the previously outlined events occurring during the 19th Century BC period in Irish History involving the return of both the Scythian Nemedian Fir Bolg and the Tuath De Danann to Ireland, the Sumerians in the early 2nd Millennium BC had given way to the Semites, and 20.Abraham had been born at Ur in Babylonia aka Chaldees of Mesopotamia. He was a son of 19.Terah who was descended from the oldest of 10.Noah's other 3 sons, 11.Shem who is the direct male line ancestor of all of the Semites, including the Hebrews / Israelites / Jews and Arab Muslims and many of the Christians. 20.Abraham, and 19.Terah, had previously left Sumerian Ur with their followers and had set out for Canaan, but 19.Terah was never to reach there, as he later died after staying over on the way, but over time 20.Abraham was to continue on with the journey crossing the Syrian Desert and was able to finally reach Canaan himself. As an individual in his own right he was to make a big difference to World History, and especially to the Celts in Ireland, as he truly believed that he had been promised by God / YHWH, (known to him as El / Elohim), that he would be the Father of Many Nations, and due to this strong commitment to the One True God he also attracted many followers in the Middle East. In implementation further of this prophesy, his grandson, from his wife, Sarah, 22.Jacob / Israel (He who fights for GOD) was to produce 12 sons from whom the 12 Tribes of Israel / Israelites were to descend. Besides this 20.Abraham’s oldest son, 21.Ishmael, whose mother Hagar was an Egyptian girl, was to become the ancestor of another 12 Tribes belonging to his particular sons also. (It is from Ishmael that the Arab Mohammedans / Arab Muslims would claim descent in 629 AD.) Not only was Abraham's new religion based solely on the One True God, but he also replaced human sacrifice with animal sacrifice. Through his descendants in time his original commitment to the One True God was to have a great effect on the whole known World, especially in Celtic Ireland. 22.Israel / Jacob, the grandson of 20.Abraham, was to develop his grandfather's new religion of the One Almighty God further and the Israelite numbers over time were to increase dramatically.
