1466 - 1470 AD
1466 AD Turlogh O Brian the Heberian Dal gCais Ui mBriain King of Cashel / Munster formed an alliance of Gaelic Irish Chiefs in Mogha's Half, which took in Southern Leinster and the Munster Province, and he devastated the English foreigners over large areas, so that he gained territory back in Co. Limerick, and also in the south of Co. Tipperary, and there was even talk now of inaugurating him as the overall King of Ireland but unfortunately he had previously acknowledged 122.Henry / Einri O Niall the Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain King of Ulster as being the overall Gaelic King in Ireland and had therefore become in reality 122.Einri O Niall's vassal. The main Gaelic Milesian Irish Kings due to the English oppression were all now known as ""The O Niall," "The O Donnell," "The O Connor," "The O Brian," "The Mac Carthy," "The Mac Murrogh" and "The Cavanagh" / Kavanagh and they were all now to be involved in a delicate alliance at this period in time, as were the Anglo - Irish Fitz Geralds the English Earls of Kildare, the Fitz Geralds the English Earls of Desmond, the Butlers the English Earls of Ormonde, and the Burkes the English Earls in the Connacht Province.
The English Galls who had their Estates in the O Melaghlins Dal Cuinn "southern" Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain kingdom of Meath / Midhe in the south of Northern Leinster, once again also raided Southern Leinster, and they were defeated.
Thomas
Fitz Gerald
the seventh English Earl of Desmond who was also the English
appointed Lord Lieutenant in
Ireland for Edward 1V, the first Norman English Yorkist King of
England, was captured by Teague O Connor
Faly from the
Heremonian Cu Corb Ui Failghe
Sept
who had his kingdom and territory in Co. Offaly in the north - west of
Southern Leinster and was also his brother - in - law,
and he took him and the other English Galls to Carbury Castle were they were tried
by the English Galls of Dublin and
Edward 1V the Yorkist English King was now determined to replace him with
Sir John
Tiptoft the English Earl of Worcester, who was previously Edward 1V's Treasurer
in England, who was known as “Butcher” Tiptoft because of all the Lancasters he had previously executed.
1467 AD Teague 1V O Kelly was at this time the
Heremonian Dal Cuinn Colla Da Crioch
Ui Maine King
who had theirkingdom and territory in
Co. Galway and Co. Roscommon in
the east of the
Connacht Province.
February 14th: Thomas
Fitz Gerald
the Anglo - Irish seventh English Earl of
Desmond, who had his stronghold at
Killmallock in
Co.
Limerick in the mid
- north -
west of the Munster Province, was
known generally to be
sympathetic to the people of
Ireland,
and was totally committed to the future of
Ireland,
and his removal by Edward 1V the Yorkist King of England as the English Lord Lieutenant in
Ireland,,
and his subsequent murder was to have great consequences.
September: Sir John Butcher Tiptoft the English Earl of Worcester representing Edward 1V the English Yorkist King arrived in Ireland and immediately had Thomas Fitz Gerald the seventh English Earl of Desmond, on account of his Irish leanings, accused of treachery to the English Crown and had him arrested in Drogheda and was to eventually have his head cut off without a trial in a very short time, and also laid claim to some of the Gaelic Irish territories previously held by the Fitz Gerald Desmonds in Co. Cork in Southern Munster. The Irish people had held Thomas Fitz Gerald with such esteem and respect that they believed that to lose him would be the total ruin of Ireland, and with great anger and sorrow after his demise they were to bury his body beside the Atlantic Ocean at Tralee in Co. Kerry in the south - west of Munster and In the meantime, the other branch of the Anglo - Irish Fitz Geralds who were the English Earls of Kildare in Co. Kildare in Southern Leinster had also by now married into every leading Gaelic Irish Sept.
December: Sir John "Butcher" Tiptoft, representing Edward 1V the English Yorkist King, held his first Anglo - Irish Parliament and he had the Universities at Drogheda and Armagh destroyed by the English forces to ensure there was to be no further higher education for the Irish in Ireland.
Rory Mac Donagh, the son of Conor Mac Donagh, the Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai Meic Diarmada King of the Ui Ailella Sept and Ballindon the Connacht Province, died this year.
Sean Finn
- the Fair Mac Namara
from the
Heberian Dal gCais

Lord Marshall for the
Heberian Dal gCais Ui Bloid Ui mBriain
O Brians constructed the
Knappogue Castle at
Quin in
Co. Clare
in the north - west
of the
Munster Province this year.
1468 AD February 4th: An Anglo - Irish Parliament was held at Drogheda under Sir John "Butcher" Tiptoft and a Bill was passed "officially" Attainting Thomas Fitz Gerald the seventh Earl of Desmond, and also his kinsman, Garret Fitz Gerald who was the English Earl of Kildare, along with Edward Plunkett the English Seneschal of Co. Meath / Midhe for treason and felony, for supporting the “Irish - Erenaig (enemies).”
February 15th:
Thomas Fitz Gerald
the seventh English Earl of Desmond
was taken from the Dominican friary in Drogheda
where he was being held prisoner and
had his head cut off immediately, and the whole of Ireland
was in total shock.
Gerald Fitz Gerald, the son of the recent deceased English Earl of
Desmond
ravaged Co. Meath and the Counties in the Leinster Province
to avenge his father, and Garret Fitzgerald the Earl's
brother,
then
went north to Meath / Midhe burning, wasting and destroying
the English Gall held regions there with
20,000 men and 2,000
horsemen. Fitz Eustace the Anglo
- Irish Treasurer
panicking freed his kinsman, Thomas Fitz Maurice Fitz Gerald the Seventh English Earl of Kildare
from prison in Dublin, and
O Connor
Faly the
Heremonian Cu Corb King
of Offaly,
and
Cavanagh / Kavanagh the
Heremonian Cu Corb
Ui Cheinnselaig King
of Leinster,
who both had their
kingdoms and territory in
Southern Leinster
also joined up with Garret Fitz Gerald. Sir
John
"Butcher" Tiptoft had brought 500
archers from England with him and this allowed him to succeed
in defeating Garret Fitz Gerald, but rebellion also soon broke out in other
regions, and
O Reilly
the Heremonian Dal Cuinn
Ui Briuin Breifne King
of East Breifne,
came from out of
Co. Cavan
in
Southern Ulster, and also carried out raids to
the east into

of

English Seneschal in the Ulster Province,
along with
500 of his followers, and
by then all of the Leinster Province was
in total revolt. Sir John "Butcher" Tiptoft then made peace with
Thomas Fitz Maurice Fitz Gerald the seventh English Earl of
Kildare,
who was to be later pardoned by Edward 1V the English
Yorkist King, if he
could bring about peace now in Ireland, and the Parliament removed his
personal
Attainder, subject to his bringing
Leinster Province back into to peace. (All of this
unnecessary mayhem had now
brought Fitz Gerald the English Earl of Kildare
to the forefront in
regard to Anglo -
Irish politics). Meanwhile, Garret Fitz
Gerald kept himself busy in Desmond
/ Southern Munster until his nephew,
James
Fitz Gerald, the son of the murdered Thomas Fitz Gerald the previous seventh
English Earl of
Desmond,
was to finally succeed to the
English Earldom there
in Desmond. Although the English Yorkist Government
was to finally recognize
James Fitz Gerald as the
eighth Earl of Desmond, he
refused to reconcile
with the English Government authorities in the Dublin
Castle (the Devil's 1/2 acre) or even Edward 1V
the English Yorkist King for his treachery to his father, and this meant that
Thomas Fitz Maurice Fitz
Gerald the eighth Earl of Kildare was now to come to the forefront
of the Anglo - Irish Fitz Geralds, as he was left to assume overall Anglo
- Irish political leadership
in Ireland.
