Irish Labour Party
together with his Labour Party Ministers resigned from
the Fine
Gael Coalition Government in the Irish Republic.
In the General Election in the
Irish Republic that followed the
Fianna Fail
Party won
81seats
being only 3
short of an overall majority,
supported once again by
Neill Blaney
as an
Independent,
giving them
82 seats
with Sean
Tracey also supporting them with his
casting vote, while
Anthony Gregory
abstained.
Charles
Haughey the leader of the
Fianna Fail Party was put in for his
3rd term as
the Irish Prime Minister.
The
Progressive Democratic Party,
under the leadership of

Fine Gael Party
and was replaced by
Alan Dukes
who made the
Tallaght Agreement
to work
in with
Charles Haughey
as
the new Fianna Fail Prime Minister of
the Republic of Ireland.
Charles Haughey as the new Fianna Fail Prime Minister in the Republic of Ireland launched the Irish Industrial Development Authority under the auspices of Larry Goodman, who was to introduce European investors with a total investment of 260,000,000 pounds for Irish Beef, and it was to become a scandal of great proportions as Iraq alone left a debt of 180,000,000 pounds and the Irish farmers were to be left holding the bag.
The Prevention of Terrorism
/ Emergency Provisions Act was
extended further
in the
6 Counties artificially partitioned from the
9 in the Ulster Province
in Ireland still under the control of
Margaret Thatcher and the British
Conservative Government, which was even more
extreme, and was another further violation of human rights
there.
1988
In the Irish
Republic, Sean Mac Bride,
died,
who had been a son of
John Mac Bride and
Maude Gonne, who was born in
1904, and he had worked hard
throughout his life for a
United
and
Free
Ireland. Beside the great contribution
of both his mother and father to
Irish
self - determination from the British Imperial Empire, he too
had served the interests of Ireland well, not only in his endeavours to ensure a
Free
Ireland but also as
Minister for External Affairs
from
1948 until
1951. He was a
also a founding member of
Amnesty International, and he had been awarded the
Nobel Peace Prize
in 1974,
the
Lenin Peace Prize in
1977, and in
1978 the
American Medal
for Justice.
March:
A total of
10,425 pounds of explosives,
552 guns
and
100,000
rounds of ammunition were found by the police in the
6 Counties
artificially partitioned from the 9 in the
Ulster Province in
Ireland
still under the control of
Margaret Thatcher and the British Conservative Government
and
there were now
3 separate anti - British
Government terrorist bodies involved in the attacks there. A
poll carried out in a
British newspaper wanted
the British
Imperial Military troops out of Ireland, while
another found that
70 %
of the population there favoured
Power Sharing.
Mairead
Farrell, Daniel Mac Cann
and
Sean Savage
who were
believed to be members of the
Provisional I.R.A. were
shot in the back and the head
while walking down a street in
Gibraltar by the
British Conservative Government's Special Air Service / S.A.S.
and were still continued to be executed
while they were down on the ground. The British
Conservative Government's court ruled that the executions were lawful.

Stone a fervent anti
- Catholic threw hand grenades among the
mourners killing
3 more people, including
Kevin Brady and wounding
60
others.
March 19th:
Then
during the funeral for
Kevin Brady,
2 British off duty
British Imperial Military soldiers,
Derek Woods
and
Davis Howes
drove into the funeral and then panicked, firing a shot
from their revolver to
frighten off
the mourners, but failed to get away and they were put in a taxi by the
IRA Provisionals
and taken away, and were found later on shot dead.
September:
A factory was discovered in the
6 Counties
artificially partitioned from the 9 in the
Ulster Province in Ireland
still under the control of the British Conservative Government that were
producing sub - machine guns for the
Unionist
Loyalists at Bally na
Hinch near Belfast in
Co. Antrim in the north - east of the
Ulster Province.
The
British Imperial Military soldier imprisoned
for killing a Catholic
Irish demonstrator in
1984 was now released from prison and
re - instated into the
British Imperial Army,
while the
"Shoot to Kill"
policy of the British
Imperial Military forces was confirmed, especially after those carrying it out on behalf of
Margaret Thatcher and the British Conservative Government were cleared of any wrongdoing.
Censorship was imposed by Margaret Thatcher and the British Conservative Government on all television and radio interviews in the United Kingdom on any person who supported any terrorist body, including Gerry Adams, although he was the legally elected representative from the political Sinn Fein Party in the British Westminster Parliament, which was a further total disregard for human rights and a different point of view,
Further legislation was introduced into the 6
Counties artificially partitioned from
the 9 in the Ulster Province in
Ireland that were still under the control of the British
Conservative Government, when the
Fair Employment Bill
was
brought in, which put in place a
Fair Employment Commission where a business
with 10
or more employees must register and report how many non - Catholics
and Catholics
were on
the payroll, with the power to intervene.
The E.E.C.
/ European
Economic Community began making funds available towards the

the 9 in the Ulster Province
in Ireland still under the control of the British
Imperial Government.

I.R.A.
bomb factory was discovered in a farm house in

British Imperial Government
handed back the
6 Counties
artificially partitioned in 1922 from the 9 in the
Ulster Province
to
a re - united
Ireland.
February:
John Mac Donald
the commander of the
Unionist Defence Association
in
the 6

Ulster Province,
was charged with extortion on
Belfast
building sites there to obtain funds for their
association.

the leader of the
Fianna Fail

called an election trying to get an
overall
majority in his own right although
Albert Reynolds
who would be a future Prime Minister also, was against it.
The
Fianna Fail Party
won back only
77

losing
4
of their previously held seats
and he was then to be forced into a
Coalition
Government
for the first
time.

British Imperial Conservative Government were forced to
renew their
Direct Rule
in the

artificially partitioned from the 9 in the
Ulster Province
in
Ireland that were still under
their control for the
fifteenth time.
James
Molyneux
was the leader of the
"Official" Unionists
at this time, and the
British Government's
appointed Secretary of State
in these 6
Counties in
Ulster conducted a formal review of the Agreement and
retained it. (The population in these
6
Counties in
Ulster was now
1,567,000
and the British Conservative Government and the
"Official" Unionist Government there had built
6
more prisons there since
1970.)
There were
12
seats available in the
British Westminster Parliament
for these
6 Counties
in
Ulster.
3
of the participating political Parties were made up of
Unionist Loyalists,
including the original "Official" Unionist Party
under
James
Molyneux
who was
backed by the
Orange Order
and their leaders were known as
Blackmen
who commanded
35 %
of the vote.

Democratic Unionist Party
made up of the
extreme hard - liners
under the extremist the Rev.
Ian Paisley
who commanded
20 %
of the vote, and the other was the moderate Unionist
Alliance Party
founded in
1970
as a centre party not polling too well with only
7%
of the vote. The
S.D.L.P.
/ Social
Democratic
Labour Party
was for re -
unification of Ireland and
also commanded
20 %
of the vote, the rest of the vote went to the
political
Sinn Fein Party
under the leadership of
Gerry Adams,
the
Workers Party,

Unionist Loyalist Democratic Party,
which was also socialist who were connected
with the
Unionist Defence Association,
and there was also various
Independents.
The
Prevention of Terrorism Act,
which was extreme
and
violated
the human rights of everyone in the
6 Counties
artificially partitioned from the
9 in the Ulster Province
was
made permanent
by the
British Conservative Government
and any one
from the British
United Kingdom
suspected
of being involved in terrorism was banned, with searches carried out just on suspicion of anyone's homes, and "Internment
for
7
days without Trial,"
with no legal
representation. They were to be tried in the
Diplock Courts
only by a judge and if they remained
silent this
was to be used against them as evidence of their
guilt.

In the
Irish Republic,
Charles Haughey
the leader of the
Fianna Fail
Party once again hoping to be the

who was the leader of the political

Albert Reynolds, Maire Geoghegan - Quinn, Padraig Flynn
and
Sean Doherty
who was the
Seanad Cathaorirleach
/ Senate.
Brian Lenihan
was put in as the
deputy
Leader / Tanaiste.
The railway between
Belfast in
Co. Antrim in the north -
east of the
Ulster Province and
Dublin
in the Irish Republic was
sabotaged
40
times within the first
4
months of the year and
John Devine
a
Catholic Irishman was killed in his home in
West Belfast in

by
Unionist Loyalists
just because he was a
Catholic.
The political Unionist leaders in the 6 Counties artificially partitioned from the 9 in the Ulster Province in Ireland, that were still under the control of the British Conservative Government and the "Official" Unionist Party, and the Irish Nationalist leader there had a private meeting in West Germany but when it became known they denied that they had made any compromises.
