                                                                                                                              20th Century AD

1901 AD January 22nd, Victoria the German Hanoverian, Queen of England, died at 81 years of age, after ruling the British Empire for 63 years as a Constitutional monarch and her oldest son, Albert Edward who was now 59 year old became Edward V11 the German Saxe - Coburg - Gotha King of Britain until 1910 AD who was married to Alexandra of Denmark.

       The "Labour Party" in support of the "common man" finally evolved in Britain. 

1902 AD The Boer War ended with Britain. Arthur Balfour became the British Prime Minister. Emily Pankhurst began a push for Women's right to vote in Britain.

1905 AD The Sinn Fein Political Party was founded in Dublin in Ireland to bring about democracy in Ireland by political means under the guidance of Arthur Griffiths. Henry Campbell - Bannerman became the new Liberal Prime Minister of Britain.

1906 AD The British General Election was won easily by the Liberal Party and the first Labour M.P.s were also elected.

1908 AD Herbert Henry Asquith became the new British Prime Minister after the resignation of Sir Henry Campbell - Bannerman.  The Suffragettes demonstrate in Hyde Park in London for the Right To Vote.

1909 AD April: Lloyd - George the British Imperial Government's Chancellor introduced the radical "Peoples' Budget," which in November was vetoed by the unelected Conservative controlled House of Lords, causing a great democratic change to occur in the future as to their previous overall power in Britain, which was not meant for the eventual benefit of politics in Ireland, but would bring it about. John Synge the Irish playwright, died this year.

1910 AD  The Liberal Party in Britain barely held onto power in both the General Elections to be held in January and again in December this year, due to the Budget crisis brought about previously by the never - ending negative veto power of the unelected Conservative controlled House of Lords. Edward V11 the German Saxe - Coburg - Gotha King of Britain, died.

1911 AD June: Edward V11's second son, George the Duke of York / Prince of Wales, whose mother was Alexandra of Denmark, became George V the Saxe - Coburg - Gotha King of Britain until 1936 AD who was married to his second cousin, Victoria Mary / May of Teck and they were to produce 5 sons and a daughter.  British Military troops and police besieged the Anarchist hideout in Sydney Street in London. James Ramsay Mac Donald was elected chairman of the Labour Party to succeed James Keir Hardie. A British Westminster Act of Parliament reduced the veto power of the unelected Conservative controlled House of Lords to 2 years, and payment of M.P.'s begins. Andrew Bonar - Law became the leader of the Conservative Party in Britain succeeding Arthur Balfour.

1912 AD January: Mass rallies in the Ulster Province in Ireland against Irish Home Rule in Ireland. May: The 3rd Irish Home Rule Bill passed by the British Westminster House of Commons. September: Solemn Covenant drawn up by Ulster Loyalists to oppose Irish Home Rule. Suffragettes rioted in the west End of London in Britain.

1913 AD Emily Davison, the suffragette, died after throwing herself in front of George V's the British King's horse during the Derby.

1914 AD Irish Home Rule Act passed, but it was not implemented as had been promised.  August 4th: Britain declared War on Germany. November 5th: Britain declared War on Turkey.

1914 - 1918 AD War with Germany. George V and Kaiser Wilhelm were descendants of Victoria and also first cousins, and as the British Royals were all Germans, this realization upset the British public.

1915 AD  May 26th: British Coalition Government was formed.

1916 AD January: Conscription was introduced in Britain.  April 24th: The Easter Rising in Dublin in Ireland by the followers of the Sinn Fein Party and associated Irish groups against the ongoing British Imperial oppression, which was to lead on to Nationalist movements also in Brittany, Scotland and Wales. August: Sir Roger Casement was hung in London for assisting the Irish cause.

1917 AD July: In Britain the house of German Saxe - Coburg - Gotha was changed to "Windsor," and they aal gave up their German titles, and were given British Peerages and names instead by George V. October 17th: The Balfour Declaration recognizing Palestine as the National home for the Jews after pressure from Lord Rothschild.

1918 AD The end of the British - German War, and a devastating outbreak of Spanish Flu occurred. December: The women in Britain over 30 years of age were finally given the vote.

1919 AD David Lloyd - George the Coalition Prime Minister announced the British Government's intention to artificially partition Ireland, with 6 Counties out of the 9 in the Ulster Province handed over to continue on with the Ascendancy in Ireland.

1921 AD The British Imperial Coalition Government artificially partitioned the Ulster Province in Ireland separating 6 of the Counties there in the Ulster Province for the continuation of the Stormont Ascendancy from the whole of the 9 there creating further dissention, death and ethnic and religious turmoil among the Irish population. The other 26 Counties including the excluded 3 in Ulster became the Irish Free State finally under Irish control.

       The Communist Party was founded in Britain.              The Irish Free State was established in Ireland containing only 26 of the 32 Counties.

1922 AD David Lloyd - George resigned as the British Prime Minister and Andrew Bonar - Law become the British Conservative Prime Minister of Britain.

1923 AD Stanley Baldwin became the British Prime Minister.

1924 AD January: "First Labour Government" elected in Britain under Ramsay Mac Donald.  October: Stanley Baldwin elected as the British Conservative Prime Minister in Britain.

1926 AD Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa further British Imperial Colonies become autonomous.

1928 AD Women over 21 years of age also finally get the vote in Britain.

1929 AD Ramsay Mac Donald becomes the British Labour Prime Minister for a second term.

1931 AD The British Imperial Empire was being dismantled to become the Commonwealth of Nations. Ramsay Mac Donald formed a British Coalition Government.

1933 AD Eamonn de Valera becomes the President of Ireland.

1935 AD Stanley Baldwin succeeded Ramsay Mac Donald as the British Prime Minister and forms a new National Government.

1936 AD January: George V, the German Saxe - Coburg - Gotha / Windsor King of Britain, died, and his oldest son, became Edward V111 the German Saxe - Coburg - Gotha / Windsor King of Britain, who wanted to marry Mrs. Simpson, a 2 time divorcee, and Stanley Baldwin the British Prime Minster advised him that everyone was against it. December 10th: Edward V111 abdicated and left England, and his younger brother became the new King of England.

1937 AD May: Albert / Bertie the Duke of York became George V1 the German Saxe - Coburg - Gotha / Windsor King of Britain until 1952 AD who forbade members of the Royal family to attend his brother's wedding as they were both also suspected of being German sympathizers. George V was married to Elizabeth Bowes - Lyons the daughter of the Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and produced 2 daughters.

      Neville Chamberlain became the British Prime Minister after the resignation of Stanley Baldwin. 

1939 AD Britain was at War with Germany under Adolph Hitler.

1940 AD A National Government formed in Britain with Winston Churchill as the Prime Minister.

1945 AD The War with Germany ended and Adolph Hitler was gone. Clement Attlee became the British Labour Prime Minister.

1947AD  India who was also treated badly under the British Imperial Empire finally gained their Independence through the peaceful efforts of Mahatma Gandhi.

1949 AD The Republic of Eire proclaimed in Dublin in Ireland.

1950 AD The Labour Party under Clement Atlee in Britain won the General Election.

1951 AD Winston Churchill back in as the British Conservative Prime Minister.

1952 AD February 6th: George V1, the German Saxe - Coburg - Gotha / Windsor King of Britain died.

1953 AD June 2nd: His oldest daughter, Elizabeth 11 became the Queen of England who had previously married her second cousin, Philip / Philippos Mountbatten of Greece and Denmark and they produced 4 children, 3 boys and a girl.

1955 AD Anthony Eden became the British Conservative Prime Minister after the resignation of Winston Churchill.

1956 AD Clement Atlee resigned as the Labour  Party leader and Hugh Gaitskill becomes their new leader.

1957 AD  Sir Anthony Eden resigned as the British Conservative Prime Minister and was replaced by Harold Mac Millan.

1959 AD Harold Mac Millan back in as the British Conservative Prime Minister.

1963 AD Harold Wilson becomes the leader of the British Labour Party after the death of Hugh Gaitskill. Sir Alec Douglas - Home succeeds Harold Mac Millan as the British Conservative Prime Minister.

1964 AD Harold Wilson becomes the British Labour Prime Minister of Britain.

1965 AD Edward Heath became the leader of the British Conservative Party.

1969 AD British Military troops were sent into the 6 Counties artificially separated from the 9 in the Ulster Province in Ireland that were still under the British Government and the Stormont Ascendancy Government.

1970 AD Edward Heath became the British Conservative Prime Minister.

1971 AD The "Troubles" continue on in the 6 Counties artificially partitioned from the 9 in the Ulster Province in Ireland that are still under the control of the Ascendancy Stormont Government and the overall control of the British Imperial Government and their Military forces and "Internment without Trial" introduced in these 6 Counties in Ulster.

1972 AD "Bloody Sunday" in the 6 Counties artificially partitioned from the 9 in the Ulster Province and still under the control of the British Government when British Military Paratroopers fired on the Civil Rights demonstrators and killed 13 people there and Edward Heath and the Conservative British Government imposed "Direct Rule" on these 6 Counties in Ulster. Ireland becomes a member of the European Community.

 1974 AD March: Edward Heath resigned as the British Conservative Prime Minister, and Harold Wilson becomes the British Labour Prime Minister again for a short period with a minority government and then wins a second election in October with a small majority.

1975 AD Margaret Thatcher "The Iron Lady" became the leader of the British Conservative Party.- "Internment Without Trial" was ended in the 6 Counties artificially partitioned from the 9 in the Ulster Province in Ireland that were still under the control of the British Labour Government.

1976 AD Harold Wilson resigned and James Callaghan became the British Labour Prime Minister.

1979 AD  The Welsh people were once again also pushing for political separation from England, but their first referendum returned a majority "No" vote." while 33 % in Scotland also voted for a Scottish Assembly, but 40% was required. Margaret Thatcher "The Iron Lady" was in as the British Conservative Prime Minister.  

1980 AD Michael Foot succeeded James Callaghan as the British Labour Party leader.

1981 AD Rioting occurred in Brixton, Liverpool and Manchester in England due to heavy policing measures used there under Margaret Thatcher and the British Conservative Government.  10 young Irish hunger strikers protesting for political recognition were to die in the Maze Prison in the 6 Counties artificially partitioned from the 9 in the Ulster Province that were still under the control of Margaret Thatcher and the British Conservative Government.

1983 AD Margaret Thatcher re - elected for a second term as the British Conservative Prime Minister. Neil Kinnoch became the leader of the British Labour Party,

1987 AD Margaret Thatcher re - elected for a third term as the British Conservative Prime Minister.

1990 AD Margaret Thatcher was vreplaced by John Major as the British Conservative Party leader.

1993 AD John Smith became the leader of the British Labour Party.

1997 AD The Welsh people who were still undaunted conducted a second referendum on political separation from England, and this time there was a narrow "Yes" vote, and a Welsh Assembly was established in Cardiff with legislative powers over Wales, but the Westminster Parliament in England still controlled their National interest.

 1998 AD "The Good Friday Agreement" in the 6 Counties that were still artificially partitioned from the 9 in the Ulster Province  in Ireland.
