851 - 860 AD 

851 102.Matudan the Heremonian Dal Fiatach 28th King of Ulaid, who had his territory in the east of the Ulster Province, acknowledged *103.Malachy Mor 1st / Mael Sechnaill as the 167th High King of Ireland and Diarmait the Abbot of Armagh officiated at the meeting between them at Armagh in Co. Armagh in the Ulster Province.

     The first Danish Viking fleet arrived in Ireland from either Denmark or Albion / Briton and attacked the Norwegian Vikings in their original settlement on the coast in Dublin in Co. Dublin in the north - east of Southern Leinster, and there was now bloody war between these two Scandinavian groups, who the Irish Septs were to call the Dubh Gall (Black foreigners) and Finn Gall (Fair foreigners).

     To fortify his own position among the Irish Septs, *103.Malachy Mor 1st / Mael Sechnaill the Heremonian Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain 167th High King of Ireland gained hostages from his main opposition the Heberian Eoghanacht Septs in the Munster Province.

856 106.Carroll / Cerball the Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Connla King of Ossory also allied with Imhar who was the Chief of the Viking Norse in his region in Southern Leinster, and their combined fighting force was then composed of 6400 warriors, and they used this force to defeat the Heremonian Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill Cenel Fiachach Sept who had their territory nearby in the south - west of Northern Leinster, and their ally the Dano - Irish / Gall Gaedhil of Leath Cuinn at Aradh Tire. 

857 106.Carroll / Cerball the Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Connla King of Ossory and his ally Olaf / Amhlaibh - the White - Imhar this year took a great force into the kingdom of Meath / Midhe in the south - east of Northern Leinster, and also went up against the Heremonian Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill Septs there under the leadership of *103.Malachy Mor 1st / Mael Sechnaill the 167th High King of Ireland

      101.Lethlobar the Gaelic Milesian Irian 29th Dal nAraidi King also became the 29th King of Ulaid, who was a son of 100.Lynch / Loingsech, a son of 99.Tommaltach the previous 23rd King of Ulaid, descended from 95.Fiachnae Lurgan the 9th King of Ulaid, descended from *91.Coelub, who had been one of the 2 sons of 90.Crond Ba Drui descended from *62,Rory Mor the 86th King of Tara / Erinn.  

858 The Dal Cuinn Ui Niaill Septs invaded and submitted the Munster Province with a great force under *103.Malachy Mor 1^st / Mael Sechnaill the southern Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain 167th High King of Ireland, and he was the first to also take hostages from his Gaelic kinsmen there in Munster to be on their best behaviour. This action came about as he also intended to send a message to 106.Carroll / Cerball the Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Connla King of Ossory, who had allied himself with the Vikings there, in Mogha's Half in the  south - west of Southern Leinster, who also eventually submitted to him, which then prevented the Heremonian Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Septs who also had their territory there in Southern Leinster from also gaining overall authority there.

       99.Kennelly / Cenn Faelad from the Eoghanacht Chaisil Airthir Chliach Sept became the new 27th King of Cashel / Munster, who was a son of 98.Murrogh / Murchad one of the 2 sons of 97.Mugthigern, the son of 96.Kelly / Ceallach, the son of 95.Crundmael, the son of 94.Cormac Sriabderg, one of the 2 sons of 93.Criffan / Crimthann Airthir Chliach the direct male line ancestor of the Airthir Chliach Sept. (He in turn was a son of 92.Eochy / Eochaidh the previous Chaisil 4th King of Cashel / Munster, who was a son of 91.Angus mac Nad Froich a grandson of 89.Conall Corc the 1st King of Cashel / Munster. 99.Kennelly / Cenn Faelad the 27th King of Cashel / Munster ceded the over lordship in Mogha's Half of the territory of the Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Connla kingdom of Ossory in the south - west of Southern Leinster in Mogha's Half to *103.Malachy Mor 1st with the Abbot of Armagh attending the Assembly, which saw them all acknowledge *103.Malachy 1st / Mael Sechnaill the Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain 167th High King of Ireland as superior.                                                                                      

860 The Vikings attacked the Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Connla kingdom of Ossory / Co. Kilkenny in the south - west of Southern Leinster from out of their settlement at Waterford situated on the south - east coast of the Munster Province, which was now under the protection of *103.Malachy 1st the Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill 167th High King of Ireland.

   Celtic Irish Crosses of granite were erected at Ullard, Graiguenamanagh, Castledermot, Newtown and St. Mullins in Co. Kilkenny in the south - west of Southern Leinster.

Malachy Mor 1st / Mael Sechnaill, died on Tuesday the 13^th November, after reigning for 16 years. He had been a son of *102.Mulrooney / Mael Ruanaid, the son of *101.Donough / Donnchad the previous 163rd King of Ireland.
