                                                                                                                                                                                      911 - 920 AD

911 AD The Viking Danes established a settlement at Drogheda in Co. Louth in the north - east of Northern Leinster above Dublin.

912 AD 105.Murray / Muireadach the Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai Siol Muireadhaigh Siol Cathail Dux of the Clann Cathail Sept, died, who was a son of 104.Mugron the previous 38a King of Connacht, descended through 101.Cathal the 23rd King of Connacht, who was one of the 2 sons of 100.Murray / Muireadach Muillethan the 18th King of Connacht (Siol Muireadhaigh / Sil Murray Sept), a grandson of 98.Reilly / Raghallach mac Uatach who had been the 12th King of Connacht and is the direct male line ancestor of the Ui Briuin Ai Sept. This was to be the end of his particular Ui Briuin Ai Siol Cathail male line altogether to the Kingships.

913 AD The Septs in the Ulster Province attacked the Vikings at sea.

107.Mael Cluiche, died, who was one of the 4 sons of 106.Conor / Conchobar the previous Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai 38th King of Connacht and the direct male line ancestor of the Ui Conchobair Septs in Connacht Province, whose other sons were 107.Aed O Connor the previous 39th King of Connacht, 107.Teague / Tadhg O Connor the previous 40th King of Connacht, and 107.Cathal O Connor the 41st King of Connacht who would be the one to continue on their Ui Conchobhair male line. This was to see the end of 107.Mael Cluiche's  particular male line from 98.Reilly / Raghallach the 12th King of Connacht the direct descendant of the Ui Briuin Ai Septs.

*103.Niall Glun Dubh - of the Black Knee the Tanaiste / heir apparent of the Heremonian Dal Cuinn northern Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain had married 105.Gormley / Gormlaith the widowed daughter of *104.Flann Sinna the 164th King of Ireland and they were to have  a son, 104.Donnell who was drowned at Galway while in fosterage. She was originally betrothed to 102.Cormac mac Cuilennain the previous Heberian Eoghanacht 31st King of Munster who was very pious and did not wish to marry and he had returned her to her father with her dowry and took up holy orders instead. She was then married against her will to 107.Carroll mac Muirecain the previous 34th King of Leinster who treated her badly throwing the fact in her face regularly that 102.Cormac mac Cullenan had refused to marry her and when he was killed  she then married *103.Niall Glun Dubh the Dal Cuinn northern Ui Niall Prince / Tanaiste / heir apparent.

914 AD *104.Flann Sinna / Siona the Heremonian Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill 169th King of Ireland, diedand Colman the Abbot of Clonmacnoise interred his body in front of the unfinished Cathedral erecting the 10' High Cross of the Scriptures over his grave, facing what is now the ruined church in Co. Longford in the north - west of Northern Leinster.

The second great wave of Viking raids began as a massive fleet arrived on the coast of Co. Waterford in the south - east of the Munster Province, and their continual aggressive onslaught was to continue on this time for the next quarter of a Century with their armies raiding further inland and Munster was now to take the brunt of their attacks, which was to only weaken the Heberian Eoghanacht Septs further there in Mogha's Half.

107.Dermot mac Carroll, the son of 106.Carroll / Cerball, was still the Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Connla King of Ossory who had his territory in Co. Kilkenny in the south - west of Southern Leinster.

915 AD More Vikings now arrived on their ships into Ireland, and the Danes among them carried off the cattle of the Cell Ausaille / Killosy near Naas in Co. Kildare in Southern Leinster, and 108.Augaire the 35th King of Leinster, the son of 107.Ailill the previous 31st King of Leinster defeated them in the Battle of Ceannfuait / Confey near Lucan in Co. Kildare, but Ugaine was killed along with many of the Chiefs from Southern Leinster.

915 AD - 917 AD *103.Niall Glun Dubh - of the Black Knee was to be the Heremonian Dal Cuinn northern Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain 170th King of Ireland, who was a son of *102.Aed Fionn Liath the previous 168th King of Ireland, and he set up his residence at the fortress of the Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill in Co. Meath in the south - east of Northern Leinster. He was a direct descendant of 91.Eogain the 1st King of Aileach (Cenel nEogain) and *90.Niall of the Nine Hostages the 126th King of Tara / Ireland (Ui Niaill), but would only reign for 3 years. He and his father, *102.Aed Fionn Liath were the only Kings of Ireland who ever tried to relieve the Munster Province from the Danes, until the future arrival of *105,Brian Boru much later on in the early 11th Century AD. *103,Niall Glun Dubh fought the Danes at every opportunity in Midhe / Meath, Dublin and the Leinster Province until they were to be finally hemmed in, in Dublin.

917 AD The Vikings began to increase their more permanent settlements along the coast of Ireland, and the Irish Septs seemed to be unable to stop their continuing advance.

*103.Niall - of the Black Knee the Dal Cuinn northern Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain 170th King of Ireland led both the Dal Cuinn northern and the southern Ui Niaill Septs to assist the Heberian Eoghanacht Septs in the Munster Province against the constant attacks now being carried out there by the Vikings. He laid siege to the Viking settlement at Waterford in Co. Waterford in the south - east of Munster, but by this period in time the Viking Norse settlements had grown too numerous in Munster to clean them out properly. *103.Niall - of the Black Knee also depended on the assistance of the other Heremonian Septs in Southern Leinster, but unfortunately 108.Augaire the Heremonian Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Ui Muireadhaigh 35th King of Leinster was to be defeated in a battle against the Norse near St. Mullins in Co. Carlow where there was great slaughter. This allowed Sitric the Norse King to re - occupy Dublin and establish a new kingdom there, and the Norsemen now also settled in to the south into the Cork region in Co. Cork in Southern Munster.

108.Augaire the Ui Dunlainge Ui Muireadhaigh 35th King of Leinster, whose father was 107.Ailill the previous 31st King of Leinster, died, but his male line would later be carried forward by his son, 109.Toole / Tuathal, who would become the future 39th King of Leinster.

109.Faelan became the new Heremonian Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Ui Dunchada 36th King of Leinster, who was a son of 108.Murray / Muireadach the previous 33rd King of Leinster, descended from 103.Dunchad the 15th King of Leinster the direct male ancestor of the Ui Dunchada.

107.Maelmorda, one of the 3 sons of 106.Muirecan the previous Heremonian Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Ui Faelain 29th King of Leinster, died this year also, who was to be the only one who would carry their Cu Corb Ui Faelain male line forward through his 2 sons, 108.Broen the future 38th King of Leinster, and 108.Finn who would be the actual one who would continue on their Ui Faelain male line, becoming the father of 109.Murrough / Murchad the future 41st King of Leinster.

917 AD October 17th: *103.Niall - of the Black Knee and his Dal Cuinn northern Ui Niaill Kings came south again this time to take Sitric the Danish King of Dublin full on, with his Irish Dal Cuinn forces also from Midhe / Meath and 3 Colla kingdom of Orghialla / Oriel and besieged the Vikings in the Battle of Dublin where the Danes came out to meet him head on at Cill Moronog near Dublin. *103.Niall the 170th King of Ireland was killed at Rathfarnham along with many Irish Chiefs and warriors in the conflict that occurred at Island Bridge, and the Dal Cuinn forces were devastated with 103.Aed mac Eochocain the Dal Fiatach 37th King of Ulaid also among those killed who had also supported him. This defeat also brought about the Dal Cuinn Colla Uais Ui Mheic Uais Ui Tuitre O Flynn / Ui Flainn / Ui Lynn Sept ceasing their connection with the Heremonian Dal Cuinn 3 Colla kingdom of Orghialla / Airghialla in the Ulster Province, when Mael Craibe mac Duibsinaig the last 3 Colla Ui Macc Uais King of Orghialla / Airghialla was also among those killed. *103.Niall - of the Black Knee was to become the direct male line ancestor of all the Dal Cuinn northern O Nialls / O Neills of Ulster. With the death also of 103.Aed mac Eochocain the Dal Fiatach King, his direct male line would continue on through his 3 sons, 104.Dubgall who would become the Dal Fiatach 38th King of Ulaid, 104.Matudan who would become the future Dal Fiatach 41st King of Ulaid, and 104.Niall who would become the Dal Fiatach 43rd King of Ulaid.

918 - 942 AD *105.Donough / Donnchad Donn, the younger brother of 105.Gormlaith the Queen of *103.Niall Glun Dubh, became the new Heremonian Dal Cuinn  southern Ui Niall Clann Cholmain 171st King of Ireland. Their older brother, 105.Conor had previously been killed. They were all children of *103.Flann Sinna the previous 169th King of Ireland, descended from 94.Colman Mor the 6th King of Midhe / Meath who is the direct male line ancestor of the Clann Cholmain, one of the 3 sons of 93.Diarmait mac Carroll the 133rd King of Tara / Ireland, descended from 91.Conall Cremthainne, one of the 8 sons of *90.Niall of the Nine Hostages the 126th King of Tara / Ireland.

With this major Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Niaill reversal the Vikings under Sitric in Dublin now grew stronger, and were a renewed threat, as they were able to totally reoccupy Dublin on the River Liffey in Co. Dublin in the north - east of Southern Leinster until 1169 AD when the Anglo - Norman English Invasion was to begin. This also meant that the Vikings had now returned in force to Ireland.

920 AD A major battle occurred this year at Ath na nUrlaidhe (The Ford of the Sledgings) on the Co. Tipperary border in the north - east of the Munster Province, between the Irish Septs and the Viking Danes. (Urlingford in Co. Kilkenny in south - west of Southern Leinster received its name from this crossing.)

920 AD Cormac mac Mothla who was the Heberian Dal gCais Ui Bloid Ui Chernaig King of the Deisi Muman Sept was also the Abbot of Kilmolash / Cell Molaisse in Co. Waterford in the south - east of the Munster Province and the Bishop (supervisor) and Vice - Abbot of Secnap of Lismore there, and also the Chief Counsellor of Munster. During this year he was killed by the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Ui Felim Ui Fothaid Aiched Sept in Co. Tipperary in the Baronies of Iffa and Offa in the north - east of Munster, for at this time the Deisi Septs there were suffering severe attacks on their territory in Co. Waterford. He was directly descended from 91.Cas (Dal gCais) the King of Thomond / Northern Munster from his son, 92.Blood / Bloid (Ui Bloid) and his son, 93.Brendan / Breanainn Bran the ancestors of the Muinter Urthaile, Muinter Maol Domhnaigh, Muinter Chearnaigh, which were to later on produce the Families of the O Brennans of Thomond, the O Glinns / Glynns, the O Hurleys, the O Maglins, the O Maegans, the O Maloneys and the O Muldowneys / O Downeys.

Encouraged further by their recent great success over the death of *103.Niall - of the Black Knee the Dal Cuinn Ui Niaill 170th King of Ireland, a further new wave of Viking invaders also arrived into Ireland to strengthen their hold on their Viking settlements in Limerick in Co. Limerick in the mid - north - west of the Munster Province, Waterford in Co. Waterford in the south - east of Munster, and Wexford in Co. Wexford in the south - east of Southern Leinster.
