951 - 960 AD 

951 AD 104.Callaghan / Cellachan Chaisil the Heberian Eoghanacht Chaisil 34th King of Cashel / Munster, who had his fortress on the Rock of Cashel in Co. Tipperary in the mid - north - east of the Munster Province regained the Viking settlements at Limerick, Cork, Cashel and Waterford back from the Vikings and by doing so revived the sagging fortunes of the Eoghanacht Septs, descended from 85.Eoghan Mor the ancestor of the Eoghanachta Septs. Displaying outstanding leadership he then aligned the Viking Danish forces there with his own, and called up all of the 120 Irish ships that he had in the fleet in the Munster Province, from Kinsale in Co. Cork to Galway Bay in the Connacht Province and met the Danish ships head on at Dundalk / Dun Dealgan / Dealgan's Fort in Co. Louth in the north - east of Northern Leinster. He then called on the whole of Ireland to support him to end the Viking menace once and for all, while the Irish ships belonging to the Heremonian Dal Cuinn northern Ui Niaill also besieged the Vikings in the Hebrides.

951 - 954 AD ? 104.Kennedy / Cennetig the Heberian Dal gCais Ui Bloid Ui Turlough King of Thomond / Northern Munster was also killed this year after coming into conflict with the overall authority of the Eoghanacht Septs in the Munster Province under 104.Callahan and his Viking Danish supporters. He had been encouraged to challenge the Eoghanachta for supremacy in Munster by *104.Connally / Congalach Cnogba the Heremonian Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill Siol nAedo Slaine 172nd King of Ireland to suite his own ends making use of him to distract 104.Callaghan the Heberian Eoghanacht Chaisil 34th King of Cashel / Munster, from any plans for further expansion into his own main territory in Co. Meath. This also meant that the Heberian Septs were now divided, and the Heberian over - kings in Munster were weakened, but *104.Conally / Congalach Cnogba was to soon come to realise that while pursuing his own personal agenda he had inadvertently also helped to create a further rise in the growing overall authority of the Heberian Ui Bloid Ui Turlough Sept. From now on individual unbroken relentless guerrilla warfare was to be carried on by the Dal gCais under the direction now of 104.Kennedy's surviving sons, led by 105.Mahon and the solid dedication of the younger 105.Brian Boru, against the Vikings and any of their Irish allies.

Clare, the O Caseys, the O Connallys, the O Powers, the Ui Siodhachain Sept and the O Tuomys / Twomeys.      105.Aherne / Echthigern  - the Lord of the Horses, who was killed along with his brother,105.Duncan / Donncuan in battle is also credited as the direct male line ancestor of the Muintir Echthigeirn, and the Clann Craith, which includes the Aherne / O Hearne / O Heron / O Hearon and the Mac Raith / Mac Grath / Magrath Families. The O Ahernes were to eventually migrate from the east of Co. Clare to Co. Cork in Southern Munster and in the 10^th Century AD the O Aherne Chief was to be nominated as 105.Mahon / Mathgamain the 39th King of Thomond / Northern Munster who may have taken over the responsibility for his deceased brothers Families as the Mac Raith Sept is also credited to 105.Mahon.  

952 AD Lairic the Viking Chief and his followers plundered St. Mullins monastery in Co. Carlow in Southern Leinster.

954 AD *104.Connoly / Congalach Cnogba - of Knowth the Heremonian Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill Siol nAedo Slaine 172nd King of Ireland, was killed this year in a conflict in Dublin by the Danish Vikings, and he was a son of 103.Mael Mithig, descended from 100.Connoly / Congalach the previous 10th King of Brega, one of the 2 sons of 99.Conaing Cuirrc the 6th King of Brega, the son of 95.Connal / Congal, the 3rd King of Brega, one of the 5 sons of *94.Aed Slaine the previous joint 141st King of Ireland ancestor of the Siol nAedo Slaine Sept. His demise was to see the end of the Siol nAedo Slaine Sept male line altogether to the Kingship of Ireland.

      103.Lachtna had taken over as the Heberian Dal gCais / Dalcassian King of Thomond / Northern Munster, who was the uncle of the recently deceased 104.Kennedy / Ceann Eidigh, and he held his court at the Grinan Lachtna near Killaloe / Kincora in Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province, but he too was to be killed this year.105.Mahon, who was now the oldest surviving son of 104.Kennedy, became the new Dal gCais Ui Bloid Ui Turlough King of Thomond. The  Ui Turlough were a very religious Family, as their kinsman, 99.St. Flannan, had previously been the Bishop of Killaloe, who had been consecrated by Pope John 1V in  Rome, who had then gone to Scotland as a missionary, and the Flannan Islands, off the coast of there in the Hebrides, are named for him. 98.Turlough ancestor of the Ui Turlough Sept who was their direct male line ancestor had also become a monk at Lismore monastery in Co. Waterford in the south - east of the  Munster Province.

    105.Mael Fathardaig became the new Eoghanacht Chaisil 35th King of Cashel / Munster, whose was a son of 104.Flann, the son of 103.Donough / Donnchad, a son of another 102.Mael Fathardaig, a son of 101.Bran, a son of 100.Moenach, the son of 99.Indrechtach, the son of 98.Flann, the son of 97.Rechtabra, one of the 2 sons of 96.Sechnussach, one of the 2 sons of 95.Fingen the previous 9th King of Munster who had also been descended from 90.Nad Froich the 2nd King of Cashel / Munster. The aristocratic warrior Heberian Eoghanachta Septs were now in trouble with further occurring declines in their overall strength.

955 - 978 AD *105.Donnell / Domhnall Ard Macha - of Armagh O Niall, was to be the Heremonian Dal Cuinn northern Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain 173rd King of Ireland, who was a son of 104.Moriarty / Murtough / Muirchertach na G - Cochaill Criceann - of the Leather Cloaks the Prince / Tanaiste heir apparent and son of *103.Niall Glun Dubh - of the Black Knee the previous 170th King of Ireland. He  was to be the first to use the surname of O Niall, which he took from his grandfather, *103.Niall - of the Black Knee the direct male line ancestor of all of the O Nialls / O Neills of Ulster Province.)

     Meanwhile the continual ongoing rapacious Viking raids were by this time slowly coming to an end. 

956 AD 108.Teague / Tadhg O Connor the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai Siol Muireadhaigh Ui Conchobair 42nd King of Connacht, also died this year, who had been a son of 107.Cathal the previous 41st King of Connacht, one of the 4 sons of 106.Conor / Conchobar the 38th King of Connacht who is the direct male line ancestor of the O Connors / Ui Conchobair of Connacht. His Ui Conchobair male line would be continued on down to 116.Connor Maenmaige O Connor the future 57th King of Connacht who was to be the last O Connor King of Connacht who would die in 1189 AD after the Anglo - Norman English Invasion. There was now to be a total change in the Kingship of Connacht towards the rising fortunes also of their kinsmen the Ui Briuin Breifne Sept.

His father was 103.Teirnan / Tigernan another previous King of Breifne, a son of 102.Cellachan, a son of 101.Cernach, the son of 100.Dub Dothra who was a Ui Briuin Breifne King, a son of 99.Dunchad, one of the 2 sons of 98.Baethine, the son of 97.Criffan / Crimthann, a son of 96.Scandlan, a son of 95.Aed Finn, a son of 94.Fergnae, the son of 93.Fergus who is the direct male line ancestor of the Ui Briuin Breifne Sept.       Olaf Trygvasion the future King of Norway was this year baptised on Skellig Michael Island, off of the coast of Co. Kerry in Southern Munster were his mother had taken him for safety, and when he became the Norwegian King he introduced Christianity to his people and his son, Olaf was to become the Patron Saint of Norway.

957 AD 105.Mael Fathardaig the Heberian Eoghanacht Chaisil 35th King of Cashel / Munster, died, this year, who was a son of 104.Flann, the son of 103.Donough / Donnchad descended from 95.Fingen the previous 9th King of Cashel / Munster, descended from 90.Nad Froich the 2nd King of Cashel / Munster, one of the 7 sons of 89.Conal Corc ancestor of all of the Chaisil Septs. The Eoghanacht Septs were becoming more and more desperate to fins a suitable replacement to be their overall Eoghanacht King in Munster Province.

   105.Dub Da Bairenn now became the new Eoghanacht Raithlind 36th King of Cashel / Munster, who was possibly a son of 104.Donnell / Domhnall whose previous direct male line had never produced a Munster King since 89.Conall Corc ancestor of the Chaisil Septs / or 104.Donnell / Domhnall may have been the son  103.Dub Da Bairenn ? a son of 102.Angus / Oengus, a son of 101.Flaithnia, a son of 100.Anilte, a son of 99.Dowling / Dunlaing, a son of 98.Eladach. He in turn was a son of 97.Selbach, a son of 96.Clarenach, a son of 95.Cairpre Riastrain, a son of 94.Aed Osraige, one of the 2 sons of 93.Laoghaire ancestor of the Ui Laegairi Sept in the Munster Province.  93.Laoghaire had been one of the 2 sons of 92,Criffan / Crimthann, the son of 91.Eochy / Echu ancestor of the Ui Echach Muman Sept and a son of 90.Mac Cass producer of the Desmuma, who was another of the 7 sons of 89.Conall Corc ancestor of the Chaisil Septs. 92.Criffan's / Crimthann's other son was 93.Aed Ualgarb who produced the separate Cenel nAeda Sept, and was the grandfather of 95.Felim / Fedelmid who had been the 8a King of Munster, who was also the direct male line ancestor of 98.Becc ancestor of the Cenel mBecce Sept and therefore was to become the direct ancestor of 109.Molloy / Mael Muad who 400 years later would be the future Raithlind 40th King of Cashel / Munster and the direct male line ancestor of the O Mahonys.

958 AD 109.Toole / Tuathal the Heremonian Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Ui Muireadhaigh 39th King of Leinster, died this year, who was a son of 108.Augaire the previous 35th King of Leinster and he would leave behind 2 sons to carry their Ui Muireadhaigh male line forward in Southern Leinster, in 110.Augaire the future 42nd King of Leinster and 110.Dunlaing the future 45a King of Leinster.

    110.Kelly / Ceallach became the new Heremonian Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Ui Dunchada 40th King of Leinster, who was one of the 2 sons of 109.Faelan the previous 36th King of Leinster, a son of 108.Murray / Muireadach who had been the 33rd King of Leinster, descended from 103.Dunchad the 15th King of Leinster the direct male line ancestor of the Ui Dunchada Sept.

960 AD The Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Connla Sept in the kingdom of Ossory in Co. Kilkenny in the south - west of Southern  Leinster besieged the monastery at Clonmacnoise in Co. Offaly in the north - west of Southern Leinster in Conn's Half / Leth Cuinn that was under the protection of the Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill Septs.

   Cormac O Killeen the Abbot of Tuamgraney monastery in Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province this year rebuilt its western portion.
