CELANDINE, Lesser / Pile Wort / Ranunculus ficaria. Cultivation: A procumbent yellow - flowered herb. Product: the Leaves are used. 

Used to Treat: Corns: Place 30gm of Leaves in a non - Aluminium saucepan with 1 Litre of water and bring to the boil, then simmer for 10 minutes and remove from the heat and cool. Strain the mixture a non - metallic sieve and press down on the material to extract the Essence.

 Eczema: Place 30gm of Leaves in a non - Aluminium saucepan with 1 Litre of water and bring to the boil, then simmer for 10 minutes and remove from the heat and cool. Strain the mixture a non - metallic sieve and press down on the material to extract the Essence.

 Haemorrhoids: with the Flowers & Leaves due to their Astringent properties by either pulping the Leaves and add to an Ointment or an infusion of the Leaves by combing 30gm leaves to 600ml of boiling Water and strain before use and drink 2 - 3 times a day.

 Piles: Specific as an Infusion or Ointment.                                Skin - Flabby - Sagging: due to Cellulite or weight loss. Place 30gm of Leaves in a non - Aluminium saucepan with 1 Litre of water and bring to the boil, then simmer for 10 minutes and remove from the heat and cool. Strain the mixture a non - metallic sieve and press down on the material to extract the Essence and sit in a Bath and vigorously rub this liquid over the affected area at least once a day.

 

CELERY / Cutting Leaf Celery / Smallage / Apium graveolens / Aiaceae / Europe. N.B: Do not use Seed sold for horticultural use as it may be treated with a Fungicide. N.B: Use only Culinary amounts if Pregnant or Breastfeeding. Main Use: For Diseases of the Kidneys, Liver, Heart, Nerves and Urinary Bladder. Actions: Diuretic and Appetite Suppressant and used as one of the most effective Aphrodisiacs, Anti - Rheumatic, Aperient, Carminative, Strong Diuretic - Seeds, Sedative & Tonic. Constituents: Rich in Vitamins A, B and C, Potassium and Sodium.

 Cultivation: Easy to grow in well - drained soil in a sunny protected position and tolerant of Saline soil with the seed in Spring and plant out 40 cm apart and keep moist - Aromatic with white tinged green flowers. Products: Harvest Leaves Mid - Summer to Autumn as required and pick the ripe Seeds dry, and deep freeze for several days to kill off any insect eggs and store in an air - tight container. Use fresh, with the ripened Seeds collected in the Autumn before Frosts, as the Seeds are the medicinal part of this Herb containing a Volatile Oil - Apiol along with Flavanoids. Combine cubes of Cucumber & Watermelon and build a ring around the edge of the plate. Combine the chopped Leaves and put in the centre. Lay Asparagus on top and sprinkle over a handful of fresh Chervil, Parsley and Tarragon Leaves. Dressing: Combine 3 parts of Virgin Olive Oil with one x part of Wine Vinegar. Then add plenty of Celery Seeds, Goldenrod sometimes available dried as Solidago Teas, crushed Juniper Berries and a pinch of Mustard Powder. Combine all ingredients and drizzle over the Salad. Decorate with a few Borage or Daisy Petals.
