Leitrim in Northern Connacht and nearby in Co. Longford in the north - west of Northern Leinster. Known as O Mollahan in Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province.

Mac Moloney, or Mac Downey or Mac Eldowney - Irish / Mac Giolla Dhomhnaigh (Descended from a son of the servant of the Church) A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory in the Ulster Province and in Co. Antrim and Co. Down in the east of Ulster. It was also sometimes used for illegitimate children of the clergy.
