O Rehill, O Reehill and O Rahill were also used as variants in Co. Longford in the north - west of Northern Leinster and nearby in Co. Cavan in Southern Ulster. No connection with Ryle in Co. Kerry in the south - west of the Munster Province although etymologically the same.

O Reilly. A Sept / Family branch, who had their territory and were Chiefs in Co. Meath in the south - east of Northern Leinster and were also nearby in Co. Westmeath in the south - west of Northern Leinster.

O Reilly or O Rielly or O Rahilly or O Riley or O Rely - Irish / Ua Raghallaigh / Ua Rahaille (valiant)  etc. of East Breifne. A Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Breifne Sept / Family branch that included the Families of the O Rourkes, O Reillys, O Bradys and their Septs. They originally had their territory in their kingdom of Breifne / Hilly Country, that took in Co. Cavan now in Southern Leinster and nearby Co. Leitrim in the north - west of the Connacht Province along with a portion of the kingdom of Midhe / Meath and also part of the Barony of Carbury in Co. Sligo. It ran from Kells in Meath to Drumcliff in Co. Sligo and was then part of the overall kingdom of Connacht  down to the reign of Elizabeth 1st when their territory was divided by the English into Co. Leitrim, and Co. Cavan which they also added to the Ulster Province for their convenience.
      
The O Reillys were to become the Kings and Princes / Tanaistes of Breifne and Cath Aeda Finn, and also the Chiefs of Muinntear Raghallaigh in their kingdom of East Breifne / Co. Cavan, and Princes / Tanaistes there in Southern Ulster and were also nearby in Co. Longford in the north - west of Northern Leinster.
They were descended from 90.Brion the first Dal Cuinn King of Connacht (Ui Briuin) who was a half - brother to *90.Niall of the Nine Hostages the 126th King of Tara / Ireland (Ui Niaill) in the 4th Century AD who were both descended from *83.Conn of the Hundred Battles the 110th King of Tara / Ireland (Dal Cuinn) in the 2nd Century AD  descended from *37.Eremon (Heremonians) one of the 3 surviving Milesian Gaelic brothers who had arrived into Eire in 1699 BC. Originally the O Reillys shared the overall kingdom of Breifne with their close kinsmen the O Rourkes - Irish / Ui Ruairc, but later had their own territory on Loch Oughter where they also had their fort at East Breifne / Breifne O Reilly. while their Ross Castle was at Mount Nugent in Co. Cavan. They were the original Gaelic Tuath at Tully Mongan Hill, and also had the Castle of Tongragee in the Barony of Clan Kee, and were also at Cootehill in Co. Cavan. Under the constant English ethnic, religious and military oppression they were to last as a Gaelic Milesian aristocratic warrior Family until the 17th Century AD.
       Many of the O Rourke Septs of their close kinsmen from
West Breifne / Breifne O Rourke in Co. Leitrim held out against the continual English ethnic and religious onslaught, but the Breifne O Reillys being in East Breifne / Co. Cavan on the eastern side of Ireland were subjugated completely in the late 16th Century AD. Co. Cavan was
then deemed by the English to be part of the Ulster Province and it was included in the confiscation of the 3,500,000 acres of the Heremonian Dal Cuinn northern Ui Niaill territories and the foreign non - Catholic plantations of Ulster from 1608 AD onwards. English and Scottish non - Catholics were brought in and the Irish Septs were driven out above the 600' level to starve to death. In 1611 AD at Clon Kee in Co. Cavan 64,377 acres of the land of the Ui Briuin Breifne O Reillys, which was just on two thirds of the total territory held by them there, was given over to the non - Catholic Undertakers and planters under James 1st the Stewart English King, with some of the Undertakers receiving up to 5000 acres each. Afterwards many members of the O Reilly Tuath / Family region went off to France to continue to fight against the English oppression of all things Irish.

O Reillys of East Breifne were originally Inaugurated on the Hill of Seantoman / Shantoman between Cavan and Bally Haise on the summit  where there was an ancient remains of a Druidic temple of upright stones, but later on they were inaugurated on the Hill of Tully Mongan above Cavan, where they took up the title of the Muintir Maol Mordha / The People of Mordha, which was anglicized as Myles. They were always in the direct firing line as the English established the
English Pale around Dublin in the north - east of Southern Leinster and continually pushed out from there, especially having their best bloody successes northwards up into the Ulster Province along the east - coast of Ireland, confiscating the Sept's territories and creating massive bloodbaths wherever they went. Sir John O Reilly had his Estate in Co. Westmeath in Northern Leinster.

O Reilly - of Co. Laois. A Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Breifne Sept / Family branch as above. Ancestors: 126.Edmond O Reilly of Kilnacrott the last Prince / Tanaise of East Breifne, and the father of: 127.Myles O Reilly - the Slasher the father of; 128.Colonel John O Reilly who dropped the O, but still raised a regiment to serve James 11 known as Reilly's Dragoons, which he fought with at Derry, Belturbet, the Boyne, Aughrim and Limerick. Despite this he was included in the Articles of the Treaty of Limerick and retained his territory and was married to Margaret the daughter of Owen O Reilly Esq and they had 5 sons and 2 daughters before he died on 17th February 1717 AD and was interred in the old churchyard of Kill / Cill in Crossarlough  in Co. Cavan where his tomb still existed in 1836 AD. 129.Bryan O Reilly his third son had 6 sons of his own and of these his eldest son, 130.Myles O Reilly also had 3 sons of his own and his eldest son, 131.Dowell O Reilly conformed to suite the English ethnic and religious oppression of the time to retain his territory. 
 
O Reilly - of Bally Ahern in Co. Wexford. A Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Breifne Sept / Family branch as above also. Ancestors: Owen O Reilly, the father of; Art O Reilly the father of; Hugh O Reilly the father of; Cahir O Reilly the father of; Morogh O Reilly his second son from Bally Ahern who died in December,1638 AD who was married to Joan the daughter of John Mac Donough of Ballanakilly in Co. Wexford  and produced Brian O Reilly and Cahir O Reilly.

Ancestors: 126.Edmond O Reilly, a brother to John Ruadh Reilly, who had been the last O Reilly at Kilnacrott, who built a large castle and married Mary Plunkett the daughter of Lord Dunsany, producing 3 sons, and later Elizabeth Nugent the daughter of Thomas / Lord Delvin
who also produced 3 sons, including Myles O Reilly - the Slasher - of Co. Laois above. He was to die in 1603 AD and 11 years after his death he was Attainted under James 1st and his territory was confiscated . His third son, 127.Terence O Reilly from Margaret Plunkett had 2 sons and of these his eldest son, 128.Brian O Reilly was to be the father of 129.John O Reilly of Belfast who was the father of: 130.Myler O Reilly of Lurgan who had 5 sons including his fifth son, 131.John O Reilly who married Lucy Savage in 1738 AD and they had 2 sons, including 132.John O Reilly.
