475 AD 91.Conall Cremthainne, the Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill 1st King of Meath / Midhe, who was another of the 8 sons of *90.Niall of the Nine Hostages the previous Dal Cuinn 126th King of Tara / Ireland, died this year, and one of his 2 sons, 92.Ardgal was to become the future 3rd King of Meath and the direct male line ancestor of the Cenel nArdgail Sept. His other son, 92.Fergus Cerball (Carroll) was to be the father of *93.Dermot mac Carroll / Diarmait mac Cerbaill who would be the future Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill 133rd King of Tara / Ireland who is also to be the direct male line ancestor of the Clann Cholmain Sept, the Follamain Sept and the Siol nAedo Slaine Sept. His particular southern Ui Niaill Kingship male line would last until *107.Malachy 11 / Mael Sechlainn who would become the 40th King of Meath and 174th High King of Ireland who would die in 1022 AD.

539 - 558 AD. *93.Diarmaid mac Carroll became the Heremonian Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill 133rd King of Tara / Ireland who was a son of 92.Fergus Cerball, a son of 91.Conall Cremthainne, one of the 8 sons of *90.Niall of the Nine Hostages the previous 126th King of Tara / Ireland the direct male line ancestor of all of the Ui Niaill Septs.

555 AD 94.Colman Mor who was now the Dal Cuinn 6th King of Meath, was one of the 3 sons of *93.Diarmait mac Carroll the southern Ui Niaill Cenel Cremthainne 133rd King of Tara / Ireland, and he was to killed in his chariot by Dubhshlat O Treana from the Irian Sept who had his territory in the north - east of the Ulster Province. 94.Colman Mor was then to become the direct male line ancestor of the Clann Cholmain Sept who were also to continue to be among the later Kings of Meath who would basically follow on from *93.Diarmait mac Carroll to be in solid also as the future Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill Cenel Cholmain Kings of Ireland before the rise of their kinsmen the Dal Cuinn northern Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain Sept descending from 91.Eogan the 1st King of Ailech. Another of the 3 sons of *93.Diarmait was 94.Colman Bec who is the direct male line ancestor of the Caille Follamain Sept who were not to produce any Kings at all, but his youngest son, 94.Aed Slaine who was their half - brother was to become the joint 141st King of Tara / Ireland and the direct male line ancestor of the Siol nAedo Slaine Sept who were to produce 9 Kings of Ireland in their own right.

The Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill Siol nAedo Slaine Sept and the Clann Cholmain Sept where now to be his main descendents who would leave future Kings of Ireland who are are descended from 2 of his sons, *94.Aed Slaine the future joint 141st King of Ireland and 94.Colmain Mor respectively, while his other son, 94.Colman Bec was to become the direct male line ancestor of the Caille Follamain Sept who ruled over the territory around Fore between Meath and Brega in the south - east of Northern Leinster. In another twist of Fate, Mugain the second wife of *93.Diarmait mac Carroll had been humiliated by his chief wife, Eithne, due to her having no children of her own, (Eithne was the mother of his 2 older sons, (94.Cholman Mor and 94.Colman Bec.) but Mugain had then been cured by St. Finnian of Mag Bile of her barrenness and had given birth to the young *94.Aed Slaine. (Mugain was the daughter of Conchrad mac Duach from the Ui Duach Sept in the Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Ui Connla kingdom of Ossory in Co. Kilkenny in the south - west of Southern Leinster). *93.Diarmait mac Carroll's head was taken to the Clonmacnoise monastery in Co. Offaly in the north - west of Southern Leinster and interred there, while his body was interred nearby at Connor in Co. Antrim in the north - east of the Ulster Province where he had met his end.

587 AD 94.Colman Bec from the Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill was killed in the Battle of Doete - Belach Feadha carried out by *93.Aed mac Ainmerech the Dal Cuinn northern Ui Niaill Cenel Conaill 140th King of Ireland, against the men of Meath / Midhe in Northern Leinster. 94.Colman Bec, had been one of the 3 sons of *93.Diarmait mac Carroll the previous southern Ui Niaill 133rd King of Tara / Ireland, and he would now become the direct male line ancestor of the Caille Follamain Sept, but this was to see the end also of his particular male line gaining any chance of becoming future Kings of Ireland.

728 AD The Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill by now had basically consolidated into 2 separate dynasties descending from 2 of the sons of *94.Aed Slaine the previous joint 141st King of Ireland descending from 91.Conall Cremthainne, one of the 8 sons of *90.Niall of the Nine Hostages the 126th High King of Tara / Ireland in the late 4th Century AD who is the direct male line ancestor of all of the Ui Niaill Septs. Both of their territories were in the Midlands / Midhe / Meath in Northern Leinster where the Siol n Aedo Slaine Sept (Seed of *94.Aed of Slaine) were the Kings of Brega who had their territory in the north - east of Meath, and the Clann Cholmain Sept (Children of 94.Colman Mor) had their main territory in Co. Westmeath in the west of Meath. From 595 AD the Siol nAedo Slaine Sept had previously been the one to provide the southern Ui Niaill Kings of Ireland. With the previous demise of *98.Kenneth / Cinaed the Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill Siol nAedo Slaine 158th King of Ireland, emanating from *94.Aed Slaine, the Clann Cholmain Sept would shortly begin to come into its own also. From now on all of the southern Ui Niaill Kings were to come from the male line of 94.Colman Mor, except for much later on in 943 AD to 954 AD when *104.Congalach Cnogba - of Knowth the King of Knowth was to successfully restore the Kingship of Ireland to the Siol nAedo Slaine Sept in Brega for the very last time when he would then become the Siol nAedo Slaine 172nd King of Ireland.

738 AD *99.Aed Allen the Dal Cuinn northern Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain 160th King of Ireland had previously ensured his overall authority over the Cenel nEogain Sept who had their territory in the north in the Ulster Province following on from the defeat of the Ulaid in 735 AD, and he had now defeated the  second main adversaries of the Cenel nEogain. All of those who were involved in his latest success had been from the Dal Cuinn northern Ui Niaill, as the Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill had previously already gained the authority over the Septs in the Leinster Province. His personal victory had only added to the authority of all the Ui Niaill Septs to now claim the High Kingship of Ireland outright. *99.Aedh Allan the Dal Cuinn northern Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain 160th King of Ireland was killed in the Battle of Magh Seirigh at Ceanannus Mor (Kells) between the two Tethbas by *100.Donnell / Domhnall Midi - of Meath the Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain 16th King of Meath, the son of 99.Murrough / Murchadh Midi the previous 14th King of Meath. Offaly in the mid - west of Southern Leinster. He had allowed the Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Sept to consolidate their hold in Southern Leinster by favour of his Clann Cholmain Sept, as he had never attacked them. He had now paved the way for the right of the Clann Cholmain Sept to the Kingship of Ireland, and his son, *101.Donough / Donnchad Midi - of Midhe to become the future 163rd King of Ireland.
