                                                                                                                                       "The End of Strongbow 11"

1173 AD Strongbow 11 / Richard de Clare the Cambro - Norman Baron leader, reasserted his hold over Southern Leinster and also led an "attack" on his brother - in - law in the other part of Mogha's Half, the Munster Province, the kingdom of 110.Donnell Mor O Brian the Heberian Dal gCais 47th King of Cashel / Munster, which was "successful," and the previously self - centered 110.Donnell Mor O Brian was now forced to "smell the roses" and combine with his previous adversary Mac Gilla Patrick (Fitz Patrick) the Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Connla King of Ossory / Co. Kilkenny situated nearby in the south - west of Southern Leinster whose Irish Septs he had previously slaughtered in battle while continuing to push his own personal agenda. It was now their intention as an Irish "combined force" to destroy Strongbow 11's fortress and any of the other Anglo - Norman settlements within their territories, and also many of the other Irish Septs who had previously "co - operated" to survive individually with the Anglo - Norman English also began to "resist" their continuing greedy grab for more and more of their Sept's territories.

Raymond Le Gros Fitz Gerald, the Cambro - Norman Marcher Baron, besieged and burnt the Viking settlement of Lismore in Co. Waterford in the south - east of the Munster Province to the ground, while Robert Fitz Stephen the other leading Anglo - Norman Baron, who was situated further down along the coast in Southern Leinster had already constructed the "first" Norman castle at Ferry Carrig in Co. Wexford in the south - east of Southern Leinster against the Vikings and their Irish "allies" there, but despite these further English Gall insurgencies there was now "new hope" in the wind for the Irish Septs. Although the main Viking settlement of Dublin in Southern Leinster and most of the Leinster Province overall was now ruled over by the English King Henry 11's Anglo - Norman Barons the "far - west" and the "north" of Ireland was still remaining strong in their Celtic Gaelic held territories.

1174 AD The Mac Gilla Phadraic (Fitz Patricks) from the Heremonian Ui Laoghaire Ui Connla aristocratic warrior Sept who had their territory in the south - western kingdom of Ossory / Co. Kilkenny in Southern Leinster was composed of 12 Cantreds, Aghaboe in the north, Callan in the mid - west, Erley below there in the mid - west, Galmoy in the north - west below Aghaboe, Iverk in the south and to the east below Knocktopher and Ogenty, Kells in Central Ossory to the east of Erley were it was surrounded by Knocktopher and Ogenty to the east. Kilkenny was in the centre of the north - east below Odogh and to the west of Oskelan and above Shillelogher, while Knocktopher was in the south above Iverk with Ogenty to the north - east and Kells to the west, Odogh was in the north - east to the east of Galmoy and situated below Aghaboe and to the north - east of Kilkenny and Oskelan, Ogenty was in the south - west below Oskelan and above Knocktopher and Iverk, Oskelan was in the Central - East with Odagh above and Kilkenny to the west and to the north of Ogenty, while Shillelogher was in the Central West below Galmoy and to the west of Kilkenny and to the north of Callan, Erley, Kells and Knocktopher. (All of these Cantreds were originally based on the territories of the individual Irish Tuaths / Family regions of the various Gaelic Septs there in the kingdom of Ossory. These territories in Southern Leinster because of their proximity to The English Pale surrounding Dublin, and the eastern coastal towns of Waterford in the Munster Province, Wicklow and Wexford in Southern Leinster would be "taken over" by the incessant "advancing" greedy Anglo - Normans by "murder," "mayhem," "exile," "confiscation" and "total devastation" of their crops, from the Irish Septs who were somehow managing to survive there.

Strongbow 11 / Richard de Clare the Cambro - Norman Baron who was the English Galls / foreign leader in Southern Leinster now began a siege also of Thurles in Co. Tipperary on the River Suir in the north - east of the Munster Province, adjacent to Ossory / Co. Kilkenny, which was another part of the subject territory of 110.Donnell Mor O Brian the Heberian Dal gCais Ui mBriain King of Northern Munster / Thomond who was also the 47th King of Cashel / Munster, who on this occasion was able to "defeat" Strongbow 11's allied forces that now included the Ostermen / Vikings from out of  Dublin itself, and drive them back to the Viking settlement in Waterford in Co. Waterford on the south - east coast of Munster.

*115.Rory O Connor the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin 183rd King of Ireland besieged the particular English Galls / foreigners who had taken over the O Melaghlins / Mac Loughlin's Dal Cuinn "southern" Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain kingdom of Meath / Midhe in Northern Leinster, which was now under the control of Hugh de Lacy the Anglo - Norman Baron, ácting on behalf of himself and Henry 11, who had set up there at Trim, and he was able to "destroy" his main castle there, and 110.Donnell Mor O Brian the Heberian Dal gCais King of Northern Munster had by now come to further "realize" that he would have to "combine" his Heberian followers with the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai followers of *115.Rory O Connor if he wanted to break the "strangle hold" that Strongbow 11 now had in his territory in Mogha's Half in Southern Leinster. While the Anglo - Norman Barons were now under siege they were still to begin the construction of "another castle" there on the other side of the River Suir to command the passage against the Irish Septs there.

1175 AD Despite the "combined" Irish Septs latent resistance now to the English Galls / foreigners advances, Strongbow 11 / Richard de Clare the Cambro - Norman Baron was still well in control of Southern Leinster, and to strengthen his position further there he now granted other territory in Ossory / Co. Kilkenny in the south - west of Southern Leinster to more of the Anglo - Norman Barons who were under his leadership, with Miles Fitz David given control over the Cantred of Iverk, Adam de Hereford was given control over "half" of the Cantred of Aghaboe, and Griffin Fitz William was given control over the Cantred of Knocktopher. Meanwhile in the Gaelic Milesian Heremonian Dal Cuinn "southern" Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain kingdom of Meath, in the south of Northern Leinster, Hugh de Lacy and the other Anglo - Norman Barons under his control, had continued to "hold" their position there and restored their "overall authority" by "hanging" Diarmait O Melaghlin / Mac Loughlin / Ua Mael Sechlainn who was now the Heremonian Dal Cuinn "southern" Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain King of Meath, there at their stronghold in Trim.

October: Raymond Le Gros Fitz Gerald the Cambro - Norman Baron, was to now "lay siege" again also to the territory of 110.Donnell Mor O Brian the Heberian Dal gCais Ui mBriain 47th King of Cashel / Munster, and as a result he "re - gained" control over the settlement at Limerick in Co. Limerick in the mid - north - west of the Munster Province, and he then put in English Military Forces with "guides" previously supplied under different circumstances by 116.Donnell Mac Gilla Patraic (Fitz Patrick) the previous King of Ossory / Co. Kilkenny. (On this occasion he had been joined by *115.Rory O Connor who had him do it, to try and curtail the ongoing "individual ambition" of 110.Donnell Mor O Brian).

Henry 11 the "first" Plantagenet Norman King of England and *115.Rory O Connor the 183rd King of Ireland had by now made a "new agreement," known as the Treaty of Windsor where Henry 11 recognized *115.Rory O Connor as a lesser King under "his" overlordship, and he would now have to pay Henry 11 a "tribute" of 1 in 10 of the beast's hides, that were slain, from "all" of the Irish Chiefs from all of the Irish Septs, who had still been able to "retain" their territories in Meath / Midhe in both Northern and Southern Leinster. (Henry 11 was also to further gain control over other parts of the "east coast" of the Munster Province, between Waterford in Co. Waterford, and Dungarvan in Co. Wexford where it is divided by the Colligan River). It was further proposed in this agreement that from now on the Irish Septs were to be "ruled" over by *115.Rory O Connor and the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai Siol Muireadhaigh Ui Conchobair O Connor Septs, and the Anglo - Norman English by Henry 11 as their actual overall "overlords" in Ireland, with the Catholic Archbishop of Tuam, the Abbot of Clonfert, and Laurence / Lorcan O Toole the Archbishop of Dublin initially arranging the "agreement" in the interests of trying once again to bring about the originally proposed "Peace," for *115.Rory O Connor.

110.Donnell Mor O Brian the Heberian Dal gCais 47th King of Cashel / Munster still undaunted now pushed on with his own individual agenda, destroying Strongbow 11’s castle nearby at Kilkenny in Co. Kilkenny / Ossory in the south - west of Southern Leinster, and once again he also "blinded" Diarmait O Brian the son of Teague / Tadhg O Brian, and Mahon O Brian the son of Turlough O Brian, who were his close kinsmen and therefore likely future opposition, and as a result Diarmait O Brian was to die soon after.

1176 AD 116.Donnell Mac Gilla Patraic, (Fitz Patrick), the son of 115.Donough Mac Gilla Patraic, the Heremonian Ui Connla King of Ossory was another also to be slain by his previous ally, the singly minded 110.Donnell Mor O Brian the Heberian Dal gCais 47th King of Cashel / Munster.

April: Strongbow 11 / Richard de Clare the leader of the Cambro - Norman Marcher Barons,"died," leaving a "minor" as his heir, and his body was interred in the church in Dublin that he had previously constructed where Christchurch Cathedral now stands, together there, with his previous 15 year old son, who he had personally cut in half for perceived cowardice in a rage of anger. 110.Donnell Mor O Brian and Raymond Le Gros Fitz Gerald the Cambro - Norman Baron, went to Limerick City in Co. Limerick in Northern Munster where they were "informed" of his "demise" and Raymond Le Gros Fitz Gerald then went onto Dublin leaving 110.Donnell Mor O Brian in charge of the settlement there. With Strongbow 11 gone off the scene 110.Donnell Mor O Brian seeing this as a great opportunity to once again begin to "drive" the Anglo - Norman English out of Dublin and Ireland altogether slew most of Henry 11’s Military Force there in Limerick and set it "alight," so that it would not be a stronghold there in the future for the English Galls / foreigners. With Strongbow 11, the perceived "overall leader" of the Anglo - Norman Barons out of the way, 112.Murtough Mac Loughlin / Muirchertach Mac Lochlainn who was now the Heremonian Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain 58th King of Aileach in the north of the Ulster Province, the son of *111.Murtough Mor Mac Loughlin the previous 174th King of Ireland, headed "south" with his "northern" Ui Niaill warriors to besiege the Heremonian Dal Cuinn "southern" Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain territory in Meath in the south of Northern Leinster that was still under the "control" of Hugh de Lacy the other "leading" Anglo - Norman Baron in Ireland acting for Henry 11 the English Plantagenet Norman King.

114.Aedh Macaomh Toinleasc O Niaill - the Lazy Limbed Youth the Heremonian Dal Cuinn Cenel nEogain King of Tir Eogain / Co. Tyrone in the Ulster Province now became the "overal" Cenel nEogain King and heir apparent / Tanaiste of Ireland, who was a son of 113.Murtough / Muirchertach Magh Line O Niall who had been slain in 1160 AD, who had been a son of 112.Teague / Tadhg an Glinne O Niall who was in turn descended from *103.Niall Glun Dubh - of the Black Knee the previous165th King of Ireland who had been slain by the Vikings in Dublin, and who is the direct "male line" ancestor of "all" of the O Nialls / O Neills in Ulster Province.

Conor O More / Moore the Gaelic Milesian Irian King of the Ui Laeghis Sept who was from one of the "7 Septs of Laois", this year founded Abbey Leix in his territory in Co. Laois in the mid - west of Southern Leinster.
