H.I.V. – Human Immune Deficiency Virus - AIDS. * The T - Cells are eventually wiped out leaving the person wide open to Infections. Herbs: Aloe, Astragalus, Black Eyed Susan, Blessed Thistle, Burdock, Echinacea, Elderberry, Evening Primrose, Fruit and Vegetables, Garlic, Hyssop, Iceland Moss, Legumes Nodules, Liquorice, Onion, Oregano, Pear, St. John's Wort and Minerals & Vitamins. Aloe: contains Acemannan an Immune stimulating compound as it may be active against HIV and reduce requirements for AZT and assist to minimise the side effects of that Drug. Astragalus - Huang Qui: boosts the Immune System and has Anti - Viral activity against a wide range of Viruses and may increase Natural Killer Cells / NKC's that attack disease causing Micro - Organisms. Black Eyed Susan: Root Extracts stimulate the Immune System. Tea: 5 x teaspoons of the dried herb per cup of boiling Water and drink a cup 2 - 3 times a day. Blessed Thistle: contains compounds that have Anti - HIV activity. Tea: Steep 5 x teaspoons of the herb in a cup of boiling Water and drink 2 - 3 times a day. Burdock: Juice or Extracts have Anti - HIV activity. Echinacea / Coneflower: contains the Anti - Viral properties of Caffeic Acid, Chicoric Acid & Echinacin similar to Interferon the Body's own Anti - Viral compound and Echinacea increases the Body's levels of healing compound, Properdin, which assists the infection fighting White Blood Cells to reach infected areas in the Body. All 3 varieties of Echinacea / E. augustifolia, E. pallida and E. purpurea should be combined to ensure all bases are covered. Tea: 5 x teaspoons of the dried herb per cup of boiling Water and drink 2 - 3 times a day or add a dropper full of Tincture to Juice a few times a day. N.B: Do not take on a regular basis but take daily only for a week or two then stop for a few days and repeat this pattern as the Immune System may become accustomed to the herb and it may cease to have the stimulating effect. Elderberry: used for Viral Infections and can also be consumed in Jams & Jellies. Evening Primrose Oil: is rich in Gamma - Linolenic Acid / GLA that is also in Borage, Currant & Hops and you can grind the Seeds and add to Soup. Used with Omega - 3 Fatty Acids in the diet obtained from Fish, Flaxseed / Linseeds, Purslane, Butternut Squash and Walnuts. Fruit and Vegetables: builds up resistance to Infections. Garlic: is effective against Herpes and Pneumocystis Pneumonia and contains Ajoene, which may inhibit the spread of HIV within the Body. Eat 3 - 5 Cloves a day to prevent Infection. HIV Immune Herbal Fighter: 3 x cups of Water, 1 x cup of fresh Burdock Stems chopped, 1 Onion chopped, 5 Cloves of Garlic, minced, 1/2 cup of fresh Okra diced, Salt, Pepper and Turmeric. Place the water in a large saucepan over a high heat and include the Burdock, Garlic, Okra and Onions and bring to the boil and then reduce the heat, cover and simmer until the Vegetables are soft - Season to taste with Salt, Pepper & Turmeric - Makes up 2 servings. Hyssop Tea: contains a compound known as MAR - 10 that inhibits HIV replication. Mix a few teaspoons of the dried herb into herbal Teas. Iceland Moss: has compounds that inhibit an Enzyme that is essential to replicate HIV and is non - Toxic to Cells. Add to Soups and Salads. Legume Nodules: contain little capsules of Bacteria scattered along the Roots and the best Vegetable source of Heme Iron that boost Anti - HIV activity of AZT. They do no taste good as they are Iron rich. Consume a few now and then if possible. N.B: Do not take if you have an Iron overload. Liquorice Tea: is active against many Viruses as it contains Glycyrrhizin, which can inhibit a number of processes involved in Viral replication such as its ability to penetrate host Cells and change their Genetic material. It also may inhibit the growth of HIV itself. It also seems to reduce the side effects from AZT. Add a 1 x ounce piece of Liquorice Root to a quart of any of the herbal Teas or just chew on the Root. N.B: Liquorice is safe up to 3 x cups a day but long term use or ingestion of larger amounts can produce Headache, Lethargy, Sodium and Water retention, excessive Loss of Potassium & High Blood Pressure. Minerals and Vitamins: Nutrition boosts the Immune System and the Anti - Oxidants especially Vitamin C and E, Vitamin A - like nutrients Beta - Carotene and Lycopene and the Mineral, Selenium in Brazil Nuts, while others can be found in Fruit, Vegetables, Nuts and whole Grains. Onion: is one of the best sources of the Anti - Oxidant compound Quercetin especially the skin and as a relative to Garlic has many similar properties and anti - Viral effects. Leave the skin on in Soups & Stews and take out prior to serving. Oregano: One of the causes of fatal results due to Aids is Oxidative Stress, which is the result of significant damage done to the Body's Cells by Oxygen Molecules known as Free Radicals. It is important to increase Anti - Oxidant intake to maintain function as they mop up Free Radicals by neutralising their ability to do the damage. Anti - Oxidant Teas do this especially those made from Oregano and Self - Heal as they have the most anti - Oxidants and sweeten with Liquorice. Pear: one of the best sources of Caffeic and Chlorogenic Acids. Caffeic Acid is an Immune Stimulant and Chlorogenic Acid is active against HIV. (Both compounds are also in Apples but in lesser amounts.) Eat a Pear a day. St. John's Wort: contains Hypericin & Pseudohypericin compounds that are anti -Viral that could also be active against HIV especially Pseudohypericin, which may reduce the spread of HIV. Use a Tincture made from the whole herb and take 10 - 30 drops in Juice several times a day. (It also contains MAO Inhibitors.) N.B: When using MAO Inhibitors there is a need to avoid Alcoholic beverages and smoked or pickled Foods and medications such as Hay Fever Remedies, Amphetamines, Narcotics, Tryptophan and Tyrosine. Also do not take if Pregnant and avoid intense Sunlight as it can make the Skin sensitive.
