HERPES - See also Cold Sores -
Cause: Herpes simplex Virus that comes in 2 forms with 30% of Adults effected with Cold Sores and Genital Herpes and is very contagious while tingling and lesions are active. It is also related to Herpes Zoster the cause of Shingles. N.B: This Condition is also aggravated by a Copper deficiency.
Symptoms - occur within 4 - 7 days of contact with tingling, burning or a persistent itch followed a day or so later by pimple like bumps over reddened Skin. These turn into painful Blisters that burst and exude Blood and yellowish Pus. 5 - 7 days after it began Scabs form and healing begins. Cold Sores: Children develop swollen Glands in the Neck, Irritability and Fever. Adults develop small reddish swellings on the Face around the Mouth generally on the Lips. Genital Herpes in Women occurs around the Cervix and Vagina. In Men it shows up on or around the Penis and can also occur in both sexes around the Anus.
Herbs: Apple Juice, Bergamot Oil, Cat's Claw, Cranberry Juice, Echinacea, Eucalyptus Oil, Garlic, Lemon & Geranium, Grape Juice, Lemon Balm (1st choice), Lemon Balm Oil, Mint Family, Pear Juice (First choice in juices as it is rich in Anti - Herpes Caffeic Acid), Prune Juice, Red Pepper, Rose Oil, St. John's Wort Tea & Strawberry Juices - Tannin is the active component of the Juices, & Amino Acids. Amino Acids: Arginine is necessary for Viral replication while a preponderance of another Lysine, over Arginine, suppresses Viral replication. Plants with low Arginine and high Lysine ratios are Apricot, Apple, Fig, Grapefruit, Papaya and Star Fruit. A cup of Black Beans, Lentils, Soybeans or Winged Beans provide 2,500mg of Lysine and if made into Bean Soup spice with Hot Pepper sauce. Echinacea - Coneflower: Anti - Viral and Immune stimulating properties - Take within an hour of the tingling occurring usually as a Tincture by adding a 1/2 x teaspoon to a Tea or Juice and take 3 times a day. Tinctures mixed with Golden Seal also have benefits as it too is Anti - Microbial and Immune stimulating. If it contains genuine Echinacea it may cause the Tongue to tingle or go numb temporarily, which is harmless but assures that the genuine Echinacea is included and it is not adulterated with something else. Essential Oils: Geranium Oil, Lemon Balm Oil, Eucalyptus Oil and Bergamot Oil can assist against Herpes if applied at the first signs of an outbreak. Lemon Balm Oil and Rose Oil may be even better and apply with a cotton ball. N.B: Essential Oils are highly concentrated Extracts so do not ingest, as some can be fatal. Garlic: has Anti - Virus effects against both Herpes Viruses and many other Viruses including those that cause Cold and Flu. Toss a few minced Cloves onto Pasta or into a mixed Salad or it can also be drunk as a Tea. Lemon Balm - Melissa: A first choice Herb for this Condition as it is Anti Viral and Anti - Herpes. The Cells in the Body have receptors that Viruses latch onto while trying to take over the Cells. Lemon Balm contains Tannins - Polyphenols that latch on to the Cell's Viral receptors and take up the spaces and prevent the Viruses from attaching to the Cell and prevent Infection. Healing Beverages: Tea and Apple, Cranberry, Grape, Pear Prune and Strawberry Juices all seem to kill Viruses as Tannin is their active component, Pear Juice especially is rich in Anti - Herpes Caffeic Acid. Mint Herbs: Hyssop, Lemon Balm, Oregano, Rosemary, Sage, Self - Heal and Thyme. Tea: Fill a saucepan half full of water and bring to the boil then add fresh Lemon Balm Leaves until the pan is 3/4 full or use a 1/4 cup of dried Lemon Balm. (This is an unusual amount for a Tea but it is needed to get the Anti - Viral action high.) Add 2 parts each of dried Oregano and Self - Heal and 1 part each of Hyssop, Rosemary, Sage & Thyme. Then add in a little Liquorice Root to sweeten and steep for 20 minutes. This Tea contains Caffeic Acid, Geraniin, Glycyrrhizic Acid, Glycyrrhizin, Lysine, Protocatechuic Acid, Quercetin, Rosmarinic Acid, Tannic Acid, Thymol, Tocopherol and Zinc all active compounds against Herpes. Mint Tea: Make a mixed Mint Tea, heavy with Lemon Balm and apply the dregs or Tea bag directly to the Lesions. Mints especially Lemon Balm contain Anti - Oxidant Vitamins & Selenium, which strengthens the Immune System and mop up Free Radicals naturally occurring Oxygen Molecules that damage the Body's Cells and all contain at least 4 Anti - Viral compounds that target Herpes Virus. Tea: use 2 - 4 x teaspoons of the Herb per cup of boiling Water and apply directly with a cotton ball several times a day as a topical application. Ointment: Heat some Olive Oil or Palm Oil and incorporate Beeswax in a 1:4 ratio which creates a Cream and mix in powdered Lemon Balm, strain and cool. Red Pepper: contains Capsaicin that may prevent Herpes outbreaks while Topical / external - Capsaicin is used to relieve the pain of Shingles - Could be added to the Mint Family Tea as Hot Pepper Sauce.) St. John's Wort - Hypericum: contains Hypericin that assists in killing Herpes simplex and several other Viruses. Tea: Brew a strong one and cool then dab it on with cotton balls or make an Ointment. Give Vitamin C and Vitamin B6 (Comes in Tablets.) Brewer's Yeast has B. Vitamins. Exterior Rashes: Wash with 10% Copper Sulphate solution to dry up.
HERPES ZOSTER - See also Shingles - Cause: Herpes Zoster Virus. Symptoms: Fever with tiny yellow centred rash, which spreads creating severe pain.
HIATUS HERNIA - See also Hernia - Strengthen the Stomach with gentle Exercises, Avoid being over weight and lift correctly. Drink fresh Lady's Mantle Tea. Take Herbs high in Mucilage before each meal - Comfrey, Mallow and Slippery Elm Powder. Herbs: Use herbs high in Silica such as Nettles and Oat Straw. HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE - Hypertension - Blood Pressure greater then 140 / 90 as the first number / Systolic - is the force that the Blood exerts on the Artery Walls when the Heart is pumping and the second number - Diastolic - is the residual force that remains when the Heart relaxes between beats. Blood Pressure reading below say 133 / 88 is safer but 120 / 80 is normal and any elevation raises the risk of Heart Attack & Stroke. Change your diet and Lifestyle to a more natural one and include regular exercise and Stress management and eat hearty Vegetable Soups on a regular basis. Saffron: contains a Blood Pressure lowering chemical called Crocetin and can be used also in cooking or as a Tea. Spices: Fennel contains at least 10 compounds that lower Blood Pressure, Oregano has 7 and Basil, Black Pepper and Tarragon have 6. Tomato: is high in Gamma - Amino Butyric Acid - GABA - a compound that can assist to bring down Blood Pressure and they also contain 6 other compounds that do the same thing. Carrot: and other foods containing Pectin and Carrots are high in the Fibre, Pectin along with Apples, and the white inner layer of Citrus Rinds. To get the full - benefit of the Pectin blend the whole Fruit instead. Celery: can lower Cholesterol and LDL levels. Garlic and Onion: used for Cardiovascular Conditions to lower Cholesterol levels and Blood Pressure. Ginger: used to lower Cholesterol levels. Fenugreek: rich in Mucilage a soothing Fibre and is used to lower Cholesterol. Nuts: are associated with lower incidents of fatal and non - fatal Heart Attacks. N.B: Do not use if you have symptoms of Heart Disease or High Blood Pressure. Safflower: used to reduce total serum Cholesterol and LDL Cholesterol. Sesame Seeds: All plants contains Phytostereols, compounds that can be absorbed into the Bloodstream nudging out some of the Cholesterol there and Sesame Seeds are the highest in this based on dry weight. Others in descending strength are Lettuce, Sunflower Seeds, Hazelnuts, Cucumbers, Asparagus, Okra, Cauliflower, Spinach, Figs, Onions, Strawberries, Pumpkin, Squash, Radishes, Apricots, Tomatoes, Celery and Ginger. Shiitake: A Mushroom that contains the compound - Lentinan that lowers Cholesterol and also has anti - Tumour, anti - Viral and Immune stimulating effects.
