changes occur in the levels of Female Sex
Hormones, Oestrogen

produced during the Cycle increasing
production of Luteinizing Hormone and
inhibiting the release of Follicle stimulating
Hormone. This leads to a shift in the Oestrogen
/ Progesterone ratio resulting in less Oestrogen

PRESCRIBED DRUGS: Many Vitamins can be destroyed by medication, e.g: Warfarin used to thin the Blood / anti - Coagulant should not be taken with any other substance that has anti - Coagulant properties such as Ginkgo, Aspirin and high dose Vitamin E. The Contraceptive Pill destroys Vitamin B6 and certain anti - Biotics destroy the B Group of Vitamins and can also have an effect on the Intestinal Gut flora, diminishing the Bacteria important for processing Vitamin B and manufacturing Antibodies. Vitamins can therefore be destroyed by medications but usually the medication is not affected by Vitamins. Some foods also should not be taken with medications as certain anti - Biotics such as Tetracyclins, if taken with a Protein such as Milk, can bind to that Protein and make it ineffective. Always check with your Medical practitioner.
PROSTATE ENLARGEMENT / Non - Cancerous / Benign Prostatic Enlargement. Cause: The Prostate is a small Gland that only Men have that sits just above the Rectum and provides a good deal of the Fluid in Semen but unlike most Body parts the Prostrate Gland grows larger as Men age culminating in a Condition, Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy - BPH. By 50 years of age 50% all Men have a degree of Prostrate enlargement / Prostatic Proliferation and it increases as the years go by.
Symptoms: The Male Urethra, the Urine tube, through which Urine passes is surrounded by the Prostrate Gland and as it grows larger it pinches the Urethra causing the symptoms of BPH. This makes Urination harder and the Bladder is not emptied completely and you have to get up of a night to Urinate. Zinc: may assist also as there may be a lack in the diet. Hot Hip - Baths and a more Holistic Lifestyle. Increase Fibre in the diet and eat plenty of Onions, Garlic and foods high in Zinc such as Lima Beans, Pecans, Pumpkin Seeds, Split Peas and whole Grains. Eliminate Beer as it increases Prolactin, a Pituary Hormone. Small Flowering Willow Herb is specific for this Condition. Use also Corn Silk, Echinacea, Evening Primrose Oil, Mallow and Tonic Tea. Liquorice: contains a compound that prevents the conversion of Testosterone to Dihydrotestosterone. N.B: Do not take large doses of Liquorice over a long period as this can cause Headache, Lethargy, Sodium and Water retention, excessive loss of Potassium and High Blood Pressure. Pumpkin Seeds: are used to treat BPH as the Fatty Oil in the Seeds is a powerful Diuretic and they have Cucurbitacins that seem to prevent some transformation of Testosterone into Dihydrotestosterone. They also contain up to 8mg of Zinc per 1/2 cup serving, as Zinc reduces the size of the Prostrate probably by inhibiting the conversion process. They are also high in Amino Acids, Alanine, Glycine and Glutamic Acid with 1/2 cup containing 1,200mg of Alanine, 1800mg of Glycine and 4,500mg of Glutamic Acid approximately. Other seeds containing these Amino Acids are Buffalo Gourd Seeds that contain all 3, Peanuts & Sesame Seeds are high in Glycine and Almonds, Butternuts and Peanuts are high in Glutamic Acid. Pygeum: used for BPH. Dose: 50mg of Bark Extract twice a day. Saw Palmetto /Serenoa repens: increases Urinary flow, reduced residual Urine and decreased frequency of Urination as it contains a compound that inhibits the action of the Enzyme / Testosterone -5 - Alpha - reductase that turns Testosterone into Dihydrotestosterone. Serenoa acts to tone the Male Reproductive System particularly the Prostate and can reduce Prostatic Hypertrophy. Stinging Nettle Root Extracts: used to treat BPH as it reduced the need to get up at night and Urinate. Dose: 2 - 3 teaspoons of Extract a day. Formula: Saw Palmetto: 750gm twice a day, Horse Tail: 1700mg twice a day, Zinc: 25mg twice a day, anti - Oxidant formula - 1 tablet twice a day.

It may first appear when a Teenager or young Adult and continue throughout life increasing and decreasing in severity often without no apparent reason. It leaves no scars and usually only itches when it appears in Body creases. It can cause Scales, Cracks and Blisters on the Palms of the Hands and the Soles of the Feet, a rash on the Genitals, profuse shedding of dead Skin flakes and even Arthritis involving the Large Joints & Spine. (Rare) It is not contagious. Cause: It is not caused by Allergic reaction or Infection nor does it seem to be Stress related by foods or Mineral or Vitamin deficiency and it could be an Immune Condition with the System attacking the Body. It is not hereditary but will sometimes show up in several Family members. Illness, Scrapes, Bruises and Emotional upsets can sometimes make it worse. It somehow interferes with the normal growth and replacement Cycle of Skin Cells as the Body replaces these every 28 days or so but it speeds up this process from 5 to 10 times the normal rate, which causes the build up of Scaly Patches. Bathe in Sea Salt and especially dry in the Sun. (Sunlight is the key to recovery.) Use warm Compresses, or a Sunlamp if there is no Sunlight available. Apply to the affected areas with a cotton ball or clean cloth. Milk Thistle: contains Silymarin used to relieve as it contains 8 anti - Inflammatory compounds that may act on the Skin and can be taken in Capsules, Tea or Tincture. These are also found in Barberry, Goldenseal, Goldthread and Yellow Root. Compounds in these known as Mahonia Alkaloids slow the proliferation of certain Skin Cells and the Yellow Barks of any of these herbs can be taken as Capsules, Teas or Tinctures.
