Garrett Oge Fitz Gerald the ninth English Earl of Kildare arrived back into Ireland from England as he had been re - installed once again as the English Lord Deputy / Justicar, as Henry V111 had once again come to realise that it was just too expensive to have English officials and an English Militia in Ireland to maintain the control over the Gaelic Irish Septs.

Henry V111 confiscated the territory of Edward O Lonergan from the Heberian Dal gCais Ui Bloid Ui Turlogh Sept and the Priory of Cahir composed of 180 acres.

February : Henry VIII the King of England for 20 years before this period in time had carried out a secret agenda of his own to secure more and more territory personally in Ireland for himself, and was by now once again, also not too happy with Garrett Oge - the Younger Fitz Gerald the ninth Earl of Kildare, the son of Gerald Fitz Gerald, the son of Thomas Fitz Gerald, who was still acting as his English Lord Deputy in Ireland, as Henry V111 saw him as being once again too close to the Irish people and he was re - called again to England, so he appointed his 20 year old son, Silken Thomas as the Deputy Governor in front of the Council of Ireland, while advising him to pay attention to their advice. On arriving in England Garret Oge Fitz Gerald was imprisoned in the Tower of London, and Silken Thomas Fitz Gerald who was now Lord Offaly his 20 year old son, (who was also related to Anne Boleyn), was later given a forged letter, stating that his father, had already been executed by Henry V111, which was naturally meant to upset him, and it achieved its purpose as he then revolted against the Dublin Castle (The Devil's 1/2 acre) authorities in Ireland, who were acting for Henry V111 who then put in English Lord Deputies, supported by English Militia to try and retain continuing total English control over Ireland.

June: Silken Thomas Fitz Gerald, who was now in a bind of what he should do, and believing his father had been executed, proclaimed a declaration of Rebellion against the rule of Henry V111 in St. May's Cistercian Abbey, and began sacking the English Galls and the English Pale surrounding Dublin, but he found that he could not take it and he also ravaged the territory in the O Melaghlins Dal Cuinn "southern" Ui Niaill kingdom of Meath in Northern Leinster and also nearby Co. Monaghan in Southern Ulster, taking hostages from the English Galls, and the non - catholic Archbishop of Dublin acting for Henry V111 was killed by his followers. Henry V111 then sent William Skeffington over again to act as his English Justicar in Ireland, and he demolished the residences of Silken Thomas and devastated the Catholic churches in Meath and their lay properties and also took the Fitz Gerald Castle at Maynooth killing many of the Fitz Gerald followers there. Undaunted Silken Thomas Fitz Gerald was to keep up his revolt until 1540 AD when he would eventually be defeated and escape into Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province for 6 months, where he would then surrender himself up under an Amnesty granted to him by Lord Grey, which was later reneged on by Henry VIII who was to have him hung on Tyburn Hill in Dublin. In the meantime, Garret Oge Fitz Gerald the ninth Earl of Kildare, his father, was to actually die in the Tower of London and 300 years later a Parchment relating to 32 members of the Geraldines / Fitz Geralds was found there with 1/2 of their names having either "Beheaded" or "Attainted" against them, as every effort was now made to do away with the Gherardini and their positive influence in Ireland. William Skeffington with a major English Military force was to eventually bring to an end the revolt of Silken Thomas Fitz Gerald and send him also off to the Tower of London, were he along with 5 of his Fitz Gerald uncles were to be executed. The 12 year old son of Silken Thomas Fitz Gerald was to remain in Co. Clare under the protection of Conor O Brian the Heberian Dal gCais King of Thomond / Northern Munster and these events were to finally bring about the further decline of the previous superiority of the Geraldines in Ireland. John Alen / Allan an English man who was to actally be the last Catholic Archbishop of Dublin was to escape on a ship, but it ran aground and he was caught and also beheaded.

Henry VIII who was now in full swing gave All Hallows Abbey to his English Government's Dublin Castle (The Devil's 1/2 acre) authorities in Ireland, and Jerpoint Abbey in Co. Kilkenny / Ossory in the south - west of Southern Leinster, together with 6,500 acres to Pierce Butler the eighth English Earl of Ormonde and also gave him Dingle / Daingean Ui Cuis (The Fortress of Cush) the ancient lands of the Mac Cush or Mac Quish / Mac Coise Sept in Co. Kerry in the south - west  of Southern Munster, that had previously been taken over by the Anglo - Norman Husseys under the Fitz Geralds, who had then sold it to Fitz Gerald the Knight of Kerry.

Silken Thomas Fitz Gerald, the son of Garret Fitz Gerald the ninth Earl of Kildare, had joined in with the Gaels in the south of Ireland against the English Justicar, and he was now banished out of Meath in Northern Leinster, and he went to the O Brians in Co. Clare in Thomond / Northern Munster and "The O Connor Faly" in nearby Co. Offaly in the north - west of Southern Leinster for protection, as he had by now personally made a good fight of it and Sir Leonard Grey came over to Ireland from England and promised him a pardon, and he went with him back to England, where he was put in the Tower of London also, and Sir Leonard Gray then returned to Ireland where William Skeffington the English Justicar too was soon to die. Lord Grey then became the new English Justicar for Henry V111 and he also promised to take under his protection the other sons of Gerald Fitz Gerald the previous eighth Earl of Kildare, also the son of Thomas Fitz Gerald, namely, James Fitz Gerald, Oliver Fitz Gerald, John Fitz Gerald, Walter Fitz Gerald and Richard Fitz Gerald who he nevertheless sent over to England where they too were put in the Tower of London with their nephew, Silken Thomas, and on February 3rd in 1537 AD they were to be executed also by Henry V111. Henry V111 then decided to send the largest English army ever to Ireland, where they tried to force feudalism onto Ireland, but the Irish were totally against it, as they were not class conscious, but being of Celtic descent they were family orientated, and the foreign English Gall plantations were now to be carried out by War and Exile as the English titles meant little to the Mere Irish.

The population of Ireland was now at 1,000,000 and the control by the English authorities over the English Pale had once again been reduced to the region surrounding the Dublin Castle (The Devil's 1/2 acre) and there were still 60 Gaelic Irish Kings and 30 Anglo - Irish / Old English Lords among the 90 Chieftains who were continuing to  survive at this time under the terror that was now Henry V111 as Co. Meath and Co. Westmeath in the O Melaghlins Dal Cuinn "southern" Ui Niaill kingdom of Meath / Midhe in Northern Leinster was made into Counties with East Meath containing parts of Co. Dublin and Co.       Teague Og - the Younger O Connor, the son of Teague O Connor the son of Aed O Connor the son of Turlogh Carrach O Connor, became "The O Connor" in Lower Connacht in his kingdom and territory in the Connacht Province.

From now on all of the O Connors of Co. Sligo in the north - west of Connacht who were of aristocratic warrior blood descended from Donnell mac Murtogh Baccach O Connor were to die out by 1403 AD.

O Connor and Teague O Connor, the son of Cathal Og - the Younger O Connor, raided the Anglo Irish / Old English Clan Goisdealbh / Costelloes who had their Anglo - Norman Estates surrounding Kilcolman and they took Rory Goisdealbh as a hostage to Sligo in Co. Sligo in the north - west of the Connacht Province intending to ransom him.

Magnus O Donnell and the O Connors in Lower Connacht were now to be engaged in a long conflict, which Brian O Rourke from the Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Breifne kingdom of West Breifne in Co. All of Magnus O Donnell's sons, except for Magnus Og - the Younger O Donnell were there with the Clann Sweeney, and the O Boyles / Ui Baigill who now had their territory between Duff and Drowes, were watching out for the O Connors who were at Sligo. Niall Boyle and his followers also kept watch for any sign of the O Connors, but Aed Bhuidhe - of the Yellow Hair O Donnell's followers were also on watch and they mistakenly attacked O Boyle's men thinking they were the O Connors from Lower Connacht, and Niall O Boyle was killed. Magnus O Donnell marched on to Fuinir, between Drumcliff and Carney, were he set up again but in the meantime Cathal Og - the Younger O Connor took his cavalry from the Muintir Airt  from Sligo to Bradhullian where they clashed with Magnus O Donnell's cavalry who were there between Sligo and Drumcliff. The next day, Magnus O Donnell took his men to Ferrard Randa in Liagain at the mouth of the Sligo River to cross over to Cuil Irra in the south - west of Sligo (It was named for Liagan a Fomorian hero who had been killed there by Lugh Lamfhada the Tuatha de Danann King before the battle at Mag Tuireadh). The tide was still up and Cathal Og - the Younger O Connor could see that Magnus O Donnell had more men then he had, so he left it unguarded, and Magnus O Donnell's men on crossing over the river only encountered a small band of the Connacht O Connors who were to then suffer great losses and Magnus O Donnell then entered the territory of the descendants of Brian Luignech O Connor there where he ravaged the area there, and then camped at Ballindrehid, and later crossed the strand at Trawohally near Ballysadare and entered into the kingdom and territory of Tireragh ravaged the area there also, and seized all of the cattle around the Ox Mountains. He then crossed over to the west to the Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Fiachrach Muaidhe kingdom and territory of Moy where the descendants of Richard Burke the English Baron, who had their Estates there now, had previously been attacked by the O Connors and he gained further cattle from there also belonging to the Dal Cuinn "northern" Ui Fiachrach Muaidhe O Dowds who were now allied with the Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai Ui Conchobhair O Connors. He also took the the daughter of Walter Burke, who was now the wife of Eogan O Dowd as a hostage and Mac Dermot and Mac Davy / Burke came to assist the O Connors from Lower Connacht against Magnus O Donnell who then engaged them in battle at Drumcliff but despite his success, Magnus O Donnell was to still return home to Co. Donegal in the north - west of the Ulster Province without any submission from the O Connors of Lower Connacht.

Donogh Mac Donagh the son of Teague mac Donagh the son of Rory Mac Donagh, (5 generations) was proclaimed "The Mac Donagh," as Eogan Mac Donagh the son of Donogh, although still alive, was now blind, and although Eogan Mac Donagh's sons put up a slight resistance there was little conflict  between them.

O Connor Sligo, Brian O Rourke and the son of Cathal O Connor were requested by Mac Dermot and the sons of Teague Mac Dermot to go up against Turlogh Ruad O Connor " The O Connor Roe" the son of Teague Bhuidhe - of the Yellow Hair O Connor and after they ravaged the territory in the Cloonies they went on to the territory of the Tuatha were they secured hostages from the Muintir Ainlidhe who were an important Connacht Sept, and then attacked the Dal Cuinn Colla Da Crioch Ui Maine Sept and devastated the allies of O Connor except for Brian O Rourke, as he had tried to make peace between Mac Dermot who was his kinsman, and O Connor Roe. They captured Turrock Castle and demolished it, and Donogh O Kelly, the son of Emann O Kelly, gave himself up as a hostage to stop them devastating his territory and they then left with their hostages taking the door from Turrock Castle with them back to Sligo in Co. Sligo in the north - west of the Connacht Province.

1536 - 1537 AD Henry VIII made arrangements for the English dominated Anglo - Irish Parliament to acknowledge him as the Head of the Catholic Church of England, which from now on would be controlled only by him and his self appointed Bishops making it an Episcopalian institution and also able to confiscate all of the Irish Catholic Institutions and their territories. The Gaelic Irish Septs were now to be forcibly made to accept the English Law, and were not to maintain any Gaelic Irish forces without his consent, and surrender their Gaelic Irish territories to him personally, subject to his own personal re - grant under the Anglo - Norman feudal system, to only serve him, and follow his personal agenda and to bring this about he found that he had to have his English proclamations transcribed into Gaelic Irish for the Peers in the Anglo - Irish Parliament to be able to understand it. He also sent Sir Leonard Grey, his English Deputy / Justicar, with cannons towards Co. Clare in the north - west of the Munster Province to submit the Heberian Dal gCais Ui mBriain O Brians, and when he arrived at Limerick he was able to capture their Carrigoguinnell Castle, and the Gaelic Irish Septs there soon found that in order to survive this particular foreign English onslaught they had to begin to defect to the English side. Donogh O Brian the son of Conor O Brian the Dalcassian King of Thomond / Northern Munster had a hand in all of this and Conor O Brian was to also meet up with Lord Grey at Limerick where he agreed to chastise his brother, Murrogh O Brian the Tannist / heir - apparent who had the Inchiquin Castle near Corofin in Co. Clare, for putting up a resistance to Lord Grey. (Murrogh O Brian had been supported by the Heberian Dal gCais Ui Caisin Mac Namaras and the other Dalcassian Septs under their control). Lord Grey, the English Deputy for Henry V111, then marched through the west of Co. Clare and took Murrogh O Brian’s castle where he had hardly any opposition, and then pushed north into nearby Co. Galway in Southern Connacht. Henry VIII confiscated Fitz Gerald the recently deceased ninth Earl of Kildare's Estates in Ireland also, which was the main part of Southern Leinster, and had an English Act passed to take back all the Gaelic Irish territory previously granted by the various English Norman Kings to those who had supported them to keep overall control in Ireland, and that had by now found their way back into the hands of  the Gaelic Irish Septs. He dissolved the small monasteries, including Duiske Abbey / Graiguena Managh  in Co. Kilkenny in the south - west of Southern Leinster, while the Creevelea Franciscan friary was burnt down in the Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Breifne kingdom of West Breifne in Co. Leitrim in Northern Connacht, and the Holy Cross Abbey in Co. Tipperary in the north - east of Munster was also suppressed and given over to Fitz Gerald the English Earl of Desmond. Killorglin Castle in Co. Kerry was taken from the Knight Templars and also given back to the Fitz Geralds in Desmond, but they would lose it again in the future during their own Desmond Rebellions against his belligerent daughter, Elizabeth 1st, when they too also could no longer stomach the ongoing religious and ethnic oppression imposed on Ireland at that particular time also. (Later on it would be given to Jenkin Conway who was to rename the town and the castle there, Castle Conway, then it was to be passed on to the Blennerhassets, an English family originally from Cumberland, who were to then have Estates in Co. Kerry). Lord Grey, the English Lord Deputy, also destroyed O Briens Bridge, which crossed the River Shannon in the north - east of Co. Clare, and set himself up in the Earl of Kildare's Maynooth Castle in Co. Kildare in Central Southern Leinster until it was to be restored to the Fitz Geralds later on in 1552 AD.

John Duff and Raymond Roe Mac William of the Clann Rickarde Anglo - Norman Burkes were killed by the sons of Richard Og - the Younger Burke.

Brian O Connor Faly from the Heremonian Cu Corb Sept who was the son of Cathair O Connor the son of Conn O Connor the son of Calvagh / Calbhach O Connor was driven from his kingdom and territory in Co. Offaly in the north - west of Southern Leinster by Sir Leonard Grey the English Justicar acting on behalf of Henry V111, who demolished  all his castles and killed many of his followers, which had been brought about by Cathal Ruad - of Red Complexion O Connor, his brother who was jealous of him.

Feradach Mac Flanagan / Mag Flannchaidh, the son of William Mac Flanagan. the son of Teague Mac Flanagan, the Chief of Dartry who had his territory and kingdom in the Connacht Province died this year.

Richard - the Lame Burke, and Ulick Burke, the son of Richard na gCenn Og - the Younger Burke, sided with Richard - the Lame also.

Mellifont Abbey in Co. Louth in the north - east of Northern Leinster belonging to the Cistercian Order together with its land was confiscated by Henry V111 and granted to Edward Moore, and it would then be passed on to his descendant the English Marquis of Drogheda, then on to the English Balfours of Townley Hall, but it eventually went full circle and is now back in the hands of the Cistercian Order.

The Carmelite friary on Loch Rea in Co Galway in Southern Connacht, was also confiscated together with its land, and given over to Mac William Burke / de Burgh the English Earl of the Clann Rickarde. (This is where the Turoe Stone is situated, which is a Celtic La Tene Sculpture, that can be seen, 4 mile north of there).

The actual Protestant Dissidents who were really against the repressive rules of the hierarchy of the Catholic Church, outside of England, at this time were only composed of two groups, the Calvinists in France, and the Lutherians in Germany, emanating from 2 previous disenchanted Catholic monks, John Calvin and Martin Luther who both initially only wanted to bring about reform in the Catholic Church hierarchy. (Henry V111's agenda was different as he had other monetary reasons and his own particular agendas and would murder 72,000 innocent people all up to bring it about.)
