773AD 99.Donn Cothaid the Dal Cuinn northern Ui Fiachrach Muaide 28th King of Connacht, died, who was a son of 98.Cathal, the son of 97.Ailill, one of the 3 sons of 96.Dunchad Muirisci the previous 16th King of Connacht, descended from 92.Fiachnae, one of the 3 sons of *91.Nathi the 127th King of Tara / Ireland, one of the 3 sons of 90.Fiachra the direct male line ancestor of the Ui Fiachrach Septs who had been a brother to 90.Brion, 90.Ailill, and a half - brother to *90.Niall of the Nine Hostages the 126th King of Tara / Ireland. 99.Donn Cothaid was to be the last of the Dal Cuinn Ui Fiachrach Kings of Connacht, The Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Septs from now on were to reign unchallenged in the Connacht Province. but they too were to soon evolve clearly into further distinct Septs, which would ensure greater rivalry among them from now also for the position of King of Connacht.

774 AD 103.Tumelty / Tomaltach the Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai Siol Muireadhaigh King, died, who was a son of 102.Murgal, one of the 4 sons of 101.Indrechtach the previous 21st King of Connacht, who was one of the 2 sons of 101.Murray / Muireadach Muillethan the direct male line ancestor of the Siol Muireadhaigh (Sil Murray) Sept and the Siol Cathail Sept in Connacht. (103.Tumelty had produced 3 sons who would also become Kings of Connacht), 104.Muirgius the 31st who would make the Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin in Connacht a power to be reckoned with, 104.Diarmait would become the 33rd King, and 104.Finsnechta the 37th King.  

775 AD *102.Donough / Donnchad Midi the Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain 158th King of Ireland launched a campaign against the Munster Province, to try and express his Heremonian Ui Niaill authority over the Heberians and also the territory in Southern Leinster, causing great devastation there, and as he was to defeat them he was to also do the same the next year to maintain it.

     The Cele de / Culdees (Clients of God), who were a religious reforming order of monks, had their main house at Tallaght near Dublin in Co. Dublin in the north - east of Southern Leinster under St. Mael Ruain, and the region there where they were set up was to suffer greatly later on during the coming Viking raids.

      With the decline of the Dal Cuinn Ui Fiachrach the pressure was further increased from the north in the Connacht Province on the Dal Cuinn Ui Maine Sept who had been their ally and they were now routed by the Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Septs who were now in overall control in Connacht, at Athleague / Ath Liag (The Ford of the Standing Stones) on the River Suck near the Co. Galway border, and the Law of Kieran / Ciaran was then proclaimed in the Connacht Province.

776 AD The northern Sept who had settled into Eilne between Bann and Bush in the north - east of the Ulster Province, encroaching on the territory of the Heremonian Ui Conaire Dal Riada Sept there were defeated by the Magh Line Sept who were their kinsmen, and as an individual Sept they where to disappear after the 9th Century AD. The territory of the Dal Cuinn Colla Da Crioch Ui Thuirtri Sept had already been absorbed into that of the Dal Cuinn northern Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain kingdom of Ailech there in the north. The northern Sept now moved further east across the River Bann and remained allies in the territory of the Irian Dal nAraidi Sept there, and in the 10th Century AD the Dal nAraidi Sept were to also take over the Eilne lands. The O Lynns / O Flynns / Ui Fhloinn held territory west of the River Bann in the territory of the Cenel nEogain Septs, centred on a fort situated on Loch Neagh and Loch Beg in Co. Antrim in the north - east of Ulster.

     *101.Donough / Donnchad Midi the Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain 158th King of Ireland was to lose several of his brothers during his second campaign in the Munster Province, and there had been no Munster Kings involved in the battle on this occasion, and he had also included forces from the Durrow / Dairmha monastery in Co. Offaly in the north - west of Southern Leinster in his forces, he had also gone up against the monastic community at Clonard / Cluain Ioraird in Meath in the south - east of Northern Leinster.

     104.Kelly / Ceallach the Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Ui Dunchada 19th King of Leinster, died, whose father was 103.Dunchad the previous 15th King of Leinster, who is the direct male line ancestor of the Ui Dunchada Sept, one of the 4 sons of 102.Murrough / Murchad who had been the 14th King of Leinster. His Ui Dunchada male line would be continued on in the Kingship by his son, 105.Finsnechta Cetharderc who would become the 22nd King of Leinster.

    104.Rory / Ruaidri became the Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Ui Faelain 20th King of Leinster, who was a son of 103.Faelan the previous 16th King of Leinster who is the direct male line ancestor of the Ui Faelain Sept, who was also one of the 4 sons of 102.Murrough / Murchad the 14th King of Leinster.

777 AD 101.Flaithri the Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai 29th King of Connacht, abdicated, who was a son of 100.Donnell / Domhnall the previous 22nd King of Connacht, who was one of the 2 sons of 99.Kelly / Ceallach the previous 19th King of Connacht, one of the 3 sons of 98.Reilly / Raghallach who had been the 12th King of Connacht and the direct male line ancestor of the Ui Briuin Ai Sept.

     102.Artgal became the Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai Siol Muireadhaigh Siol Cathail 30th King of Connacht, who was one of the 4 sons of 101.Cathal the previous 23rd King of Connacht, who is the direct male line ancestor of the Siol Cathail Sept, and one of the 2 sons of 100.Murray / Muireadhach the 18th King of Connacht who is the direct male line ancestor of the Siol Muireadhaigh (Sil Murray) Sept, who was another of the 3 sons of 98.Reilly / Raghallach the 12th King of Connacht the direct male line ancestor of the Ui Briuin Ai Sept.

 778 AD 99.Niall Frossach - of the Showers the previous Dal Cuinn northern Ui Niaill Cenel nEogain 157th King of Ireland, who had abdicated in 770 AD was to die this year while on a pilgrimage to the Holy island of Iona of 94.St. Columbcille. He had been one of the 2 sons of *98.Fergal mac Maele Duin the previous 151st King of Ireland, descended from 91.Eogain the 1st King of Ailech, one of the 8 sons of *90.Niall of the Nine Hostages the direct male line ancestor of all the Dal Cuinn Ui Niaill Septs.

     102.Artgal the Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai Siol Muireadhaigh Siol Cathail 30th King of Connacht defeated the Dal Cuinn Ui Maine Sept again, who had their territory in Co. Galway in the south - east of the Connacht Province.

     100.Congalach the Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill Siol nAedo Slaine 19th King of Brega, who had his territory in the south - east of Northern Leinster, died, who was son of 99.Conaing the previous 16th King of Brega, who was a grandson of 97.Congalach the 10th King of Brega, who was one of the 2 sons of 96.Conaing Cuirrc the 6th King of Brega, a son of 95.Congal the 3rd King of Brega, one of the 5 sons of *94.Aed Slaine the previous 139th joint King of Ireland.  His male line was to continue on through his son, 101.Kelly / Ceallach until the advent of *104.Congalach Cnogba - of Knowth who 228 years later on, would for a short time, finally revive the fortunes of the Siol nAedo Slaine Sept when he was to become the 33rd King of Brega and the 167th King of Ireland. 

      93.Aed Fionn - of Fair Complexion the King of Argyll in Alba / Scottish Highlands, died, who was a great - grandson of 90.Eochy / Eochaidh the previous Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Ui Conaire King of Dal Riada in 726 AD, and his son who was another 94.Eochy / Eochaidh was also to be the King of Argyll, who was to marry the sister of Unuist the King of the Scythian Gaelic Picts. In 841 AD she was to produce a son, 95.Ailpin, who was also to be the King of Argyll, who was able therefore to lay claim through the female line to the Gaelic Pictish kingdom thereby enabling in the future his son, 96.Kenneth / Cainnech mac Ailpine to become the first King of the  the Scythian Gaelic Celtic Heremonian Ui Cobhthaigh Ui Conaire Scottii and the Scythian Celtic Gaelic Picts in Alba / Scottish Highlands.

779 AD 101.Flaithri the previous Dal Cuinn Ui Briuin Ai 29th King of Connacht, who had abdicated in 777 AD, died, who was a son of 100.Donnell / Domhnall the previous 22nd King of Connacht, one of the 2 sons of 99.Kelly / Ceallach the 19th King of Connacht, one of the 3 sons of 98.Reilly / Raghallach the 12th King of Connacht the direct male line ancestor of the Ui Briuin Ai Sept. (This was to be the end of his particular Ui Briuin Ai male line to the Kingship.

      99.Fergal the Eoghanacht Raithlind King / Ri of South Muman / Des Muman / Southern Munster, died, who was a son of 98.Eladach, a son of 97.Selbach, a son of 96.Clarenach, the son of 95.Coirpre Riastrain, whose father was 94.Aed Osraige, one of the 2 sons of 93.Loegaire the direct male line ancestor of the Heberian Ui Laegairi Sept, who was one of the 2 sons of 92.Criffan / Crimthann, whose other son, 93.Aed Ualgarb is the direct male line ancestor of the Cenel nAeda Sept. In turn, 92.Crimthann was a son of 91.Eochy / Echu the direct male line ancestor of the Ui Echach Muman Sept, who was a son of 90.Mac Cass, another of the 7 sons of 89. Conall Corc the Chaisil 1st King of Cashel / Munster. 99.Fergal's male line was to eventually produce 104.Dub Da Bairenn the future 36th King of Munster).  

780 AD The Council of Chalon condemned the harsh Penitentials carried out by the Irish monks at this time.

       The Law of St. Comman and Aedan was proclaimed once again in the Connacht Province.

       *101.Donough / Donnchad the Dal Cuinn southern Ui Niaill Clann Cholmain 158th King of Ireland once again besieged Southern Leinster to express his overall Dal Cuinn Ui Niaill authority in Mogha's Half, attacking 104.Rory / Ruaidri the Cu Corb Ui Dunlainge Ui Faelain 20th King of Leinster and Laidcenn the Cu Corb Ui Cheinnselaig King at Kilcock / Cill Choca (St. Coca's church) in Co. Kildare in Central Southern Leinster, and many churches there were burnt during the raids.  

780 AD The Heberian Eoghanachta Septs continued to share the Kingship of Munster between their own Eoghanacht Septs only, while the Heberian In Deis Tuaiscirt Dal gCais Septs set up in Co. Clare established greater influence over Co. Limerick and Co. Tipperary in Thomond / Northern Munster)
