CINERARIA MARITIMA / Dusty Miller / Senecio maritimus. West Indies. Cultivation: A small plant with finely divided silver leaves. Product: the Juice is used. Used to Treat: Cataracts: in the Eyes.

CINNAMON / Cinnamomum zeylanicum / Ceylon. Actions: Anti - Spasmodic, Aromatic, Astringent, Carminative and Stimulant.

Cultivation: Another member of the Laurel Family, an evergreen of noble appearance. Product: the Bark is used, rolled and dried in cylindrical quills. Use the rolled & dried Inner Bark of the Shoots in pieces or as a ground powder. Also used as a Culinary herb for flavouring & Spice in two forms. 

 Used to Treat: Bath: 500ml Apple Cider Vinegar, 2 drops of Oil of Cloves, 10 drops Oil of Cinnamon, 5 drops Oil of Lemon, 1 - 2 drops Oil of Bergamot or Neroli and mix thoroughly and shake before use.               Cramps: steep 2 teaspoons of the powder in boiling water for 15 minutes, cool and sip slowly 1 hour before each meal.                 Athlete's Foot: use as a Tea as it contains more then 10 Fungicides.              Body - Odour:                    Cramps - Leg: see Night Cramps below.              Diabetes:                      Diarrhoea: steep 2 teaspoons of the powder in boiling water for 15 minutes, cool and sip slowly 1 hour before each meal.               Fever:                Flatulence: to relieve by steeping 2 teaspoons of the powder in boiling water for 15 minutes, cool and sip slowly 1 hour before each meal.                    Heart - Burn:                   Impotence:                    Indigestion: steep 2 teaspoons of the powder in boiling water for 15 minutes, cool and sip slowly 1 hour before each meal.                      Internal - Cramps: as an Anti - Spasmodic as a Tea.                        Menstrual - Cramps: as an Anti - Spasmodic as a Tea.                          Nausea: steep 2 teaspoons of the powder in boiling water for 15 minutes, cool and sip slowly 1 hour before each meal.                     Nerves - Bath: The aromatic Bark can be infused in water and added.                         Night - Cramps: of the Calf, Foot and Leg as a Tea, increase Calcium and Vitamin B6 and Vegetable Oils to improve Circulation.                                        Pep - Up: Rub: a few drops of Cinnamon added to Olive Oil to sooth and warm.                      Tissues: to tighten up.                      Tooth - Ache: cooled Cinnamon Tea or Oil from the Bark and Leaves of the tree are used as a Compress.                         Vomiting: as an excellent Carminative and Stimulant to quickly end.

 CLARY SAGE: Used to Treat: Hair - Rinse: 1 Tablespoon of Clary Sage Oil, 250ml of Apple Cider Vinegar, 50ml of Whisky, combine in a jar with a tight lid and shake well before each use and store in the refrigerator.

Actions: Alterative, Aperient, Anti - Inflammatory, Anti - Neoplastic, Astringent, Diuretic, mild Laxative and Tonic. As a valuable Diuretic increases Fluid loss and excretion of waste Fluids in the Urine and Toxins.

Constituents: Asperuloside, Citric Acid, Gallotannic Acid and Glycoside and very high in Silica.

Cultivation: A Wild rampant weed with lanceolate bristly leaves that requires a cool climate and has tiny curved prickles on the angles of the stems and veins. Collect before Flowering and dry in the shade or make into a Tincture.

Product: Use the whole herb above the ground, the green parts the Stem and small Leaves. Add to Salads. Infusion: Pour 1 Cup of boiling water onto 2 to 3 teaspoons of the dried herb and leave for 10 -15 minutes and take 1 Cup 3 times a day. Steamed Cleavers: Can be cooked as a green Vegetable. Take armfuls of Cleavers off of any vegetation it is smothering. Use all the green parts, Stems and Leaves, chop, steam lightly and serve with a dash of Olive Oil and Black Pepper. Tincture: 2 to 4ml 3 times a day - Put through a Juice extractor for easier handling.

Constituents: Essential Oils, Isotrifolin, Quercetin, Red - Tannin, Salicic Acid, Sodium, Trifolin, Vitamin C and White Tannin. Tea: 1 x cup boiling water to 1 - 3 teaspoons of the dried herb and infuse for 10 - 15 minutes and take 3 times a day or more if required for Coughs. Or equal parts of Dandelion Leaves, Peppermint & Clover Blossoms. Tincture: 2 - 6 ml 3 times a day. Raw: Eat freely in Salads and the Leaves also can be eaten. Clover Salad: Clover Leaves and Blossoms, 2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil, 2 Tablespoons of chopped Mint, 75 gm Rice, 2 Tablespoons of freshly squeezed Orange Juice. Cook the Rice and mix with the Oil and Juice while still hot. Stir in the Leaves, which have been slit and stir into Rice with the Mint. Garnish with Flowers.
